Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Hi everyone, I haven't been on the forum for a while - and I note a few people having problems with using playlists and freezing issues when it gets near the end of a file. I don't currently know what's causing this - to be honest I've not been working on this plugin for quite some time. I'll poke a...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Hello, the plugin was working fine for me for a few weeks but recently I get an Error everytime I try to play a file with MM2VLC (e.g. an mkv file). "CLSIDfromProgID() failed" Any thoughts? Hi xony, Someone else once had this error - the issue was access permissions to the registry. Runni...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

FYI: I had a "Specified Module could not be found, Line 18, Col 4" error at start up of MM after initial install of VLC 1.1. Fixed error by complete remove of VLC and re-install of VLC 1.1. Interesting... mm2vlc relies on the VLC ActiveX control - maybe the v1.1 installer doesn't update t...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

I'm using a persistant panel - perhaps there's something I've got to do on exit to save the state. Showing up my lack of MM knowledge here...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Ian, in case I am giving the wrong impression, the new version is much better than the version 1. V1 was not usable at all as a player, V2 has been stable in a lot of adhoc tests since I installed it. The crashes appear to be gone. Not all - your feedback is fantastic. That being said, I have notic...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Duh. Yeah I did not have AVI, M4V, etc. checked in Add/Rescan dialog. Works now. Excellent! :P The truncated title bar looks like: http://sites.google.com/site/owynsmediamonkey/Home/test-logs-screen-shots-etc/100611MM2VLC.jpg Retested and the Close icon is active if I position the cursor very caref...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

That is correct. e.g. I tested using My Computer->"G:\Media\Video\TV\_To Watch" and was able to see the ,AVI files in the folder and play one. I then used Add/Rescan on that folder but did not have a Library->Location->"G:Media\Video\..." folder. This problem persists from the f...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll take a look on the scripting wiki and see if there's a way that the "always on top" flag can be configured. As for add/rescan not working, do you mean that the movie and video filetypes are not getting added to your library? That you are loading them from the ...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

I've now released version 2 of this plugin. Improvements: (1) Ditches the need for VLC over HTTP. Won't get tangled with Windows Firewall, more efficient (2) Easier to install, less moving parts (one auto script and the input plugin DLL) (3) Now runs out of a dockable window within MM via the VLC Ac...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Thanks Peke for this amazing plugin! I would really love to have all my experience of MM3 in one interface.. So I ask: Is there anyway to have the movie embed within MM instead of popping up in another window?? Im using in_VID4WA.dll to allow video in MM3. Is this possible and if so..would you be w...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Thanks for the great feeback peoples! Owyn, good rundown on some integration aspects of the plugin that aren't quite there... yeah - I've focussed so much on just getting the plugin working that I've really not covered all the little things like play count. I've recently discovered that the seek bar...

Re: VLC Player plugin (MM2VLC)

Yeah the add-on in its current form is very prone to failure - everything has to be just "so"... I think I can help you on this one... 8) In this case, the plug-in is most certainly registered, where it's likely to be failing is the startup of the vlc.exe in the background. You can fix thi...
