Re: Asustor NAS changes MediaMonkey file names

I wouldn't do either. MediaMonkey has serious issues regarding latency when tagging or editing files existing on remote shares, and always has done. If you attempt to edit tags on files stored on remote paths or make any changes, MediaMonkey may fail on one or more tracks in any given album, and you...

Leftover folders

When removing an album from the "Art & Details" view, the albums files are removed, but not the artwork or the folder the album resided in. This results in unwanted clutter being left behind and often duplicate folders for the same album. Auto-Organize will remove folders, but only if all artwork in...

Re: How come doesn't MM minimize normally, like every progra

Some skins / addon panels will also cause a fault and an error with MediaMonkey when attempting to minimize to the taskbar. MiniLyrics embedder and G-Monkey PS (skin) being two such examples. Not every time, but more often than not.

Re: Multi-value fields in ID3v2 tags - inconsistently writte

Seconded. I would also be interested to know if MM's use of multiple seperators "goes against" the ID3 standard guidelines. Either way, for people that use XBMC (now called Kodi) this is a significant drawback. At the very least, the OPTION to define each seperator value would be a plus, even if MM ...

Re: File Monitor deletes Folders

Just create a zero-byte text file (you could call it "MediaMonkey-PlaceHolder.txt") with nothing inside it, and place it inside your Global import folder. Then right click on the text file, and select properties. Then check the box marked "Hide", and click ok.

Now MM won't delete the folder.

Re: Auto Organize Script - Potential Data Loss!

Are you saying the freezing occurred using Auto-Organize Files on read-only files? Sorry to resurrect this thread after so long, but I never checked back for replies after posting my initial report. To answer your question, no, freezing occurs once a startup scan is in process if any files are lock...

Re: MediaMonkey is corrupting my music! WHY??

I have the share where my music resides set to the admin user account to prevent WMP from ruining my album art / adding useless AlbumArtSmall.jpg/Thumbs.db files and other clutter from appearing on the shares. Uninstalling WMP has some negative side effects for uPnP related support in Windows, so un...

Re: Auto Organize Script - Potential Data Loss!

With regards the crashing issue. I think that's a permissions issue. I store my media on a ReadyNAS Pro, syncing to a local folder via Rsync / DeltaCopy. However, "pulling" files to the local machine (as a pose to pushing files from the NAS) doesn't work properly as DeltaCopy doesn't set file permis...

Re: Auto Organize Script - Potential Data Loss!

Looks like that's the one. Seems to happen more towards the beginning of a run though. If MM has been open a while and no databases accesses are happening, it works every time. But as stated, on the one time my friend tried it (yes we're both using Art + Details View) he clicked OK instead of cancel...

Auto Organize Script - Potential Data Loss!

With the current version of MM (4.10.1692) there is a serious bug with the Auto Organize functionality built into MM. When doing a "Move" files to new path, The process will complete successfully for the first attempt. For the second attempt (i.e: differing album / files from first attempt, or indee...

Re: MM as a central music server?

I'm not sure how it works with WHS but My configuration involves a NAS (NETGEAR ReadyNAS Ultra 4) and a dedicated HTPC running a hybrid of W7 and XBMC. Now With this setup, I also wanted Media Player on my other systems to be able to access the files but not modify them or be able to write to the sh...
