same title different extensions -- only want one in playlist

I have a library full of .m4a and .mp3 files. In most cases, but not all, there is a .mp3 for ever .m4a. However, there are quite a few .m4a files with no duplicate .mp3, and there are a ton of .mp3 files with no matching .m4a files. What I want is to create a playlist that meets a certain criteria ...

Re: ini file for organize mask(s)?

I've found at the moment while I'm trying to wrangle it, I need them to match. I'm having to correct and fill in missing information.

ini file for organize mask(s)?

I am creating a rather complex mask for auto-organize, which I have discovered has to be updated in multiple places -- both in the auto-organize configuration screen under tools->options and in the "Rename file(s) based on file properties" screen under File Properties. Then I'm making a change that ...

Pls Share Your Auto-Organize Masks

Maybe there is already a thread for this. Please point me in that direction, if there is. I'm insanely curious about: A.) How other people organize their music. B.) How they code the auto-organize masks to do the work for them. :) I've looked at the samples on the wiki and they aren't nearly as comp...

MM4.1/Win8 -- import problems -- Help!

I just bought a new Win8.1 computer. I copied my music files over from my old Win7 machine where I had an older version of MM Gold running. I downloaded the most recent version of MM4.1. One of the things I did was set up a different Auto-Organize mask. That's where things went wonky. Unlike the pre...

Re: Create Playlist of Duplicates w/ specific Extensions???

I'm a hoarder. Oh, no...really. This is a temporary thing. I don't want to get rid of the .m4p files until I'm sure I've converted them all. I have previously made "rush to judgement" calls where I thought I had backups and deleted things (not just music, though that's the most recent victim) only t...

Create Playlist of Duplicates w/ specific Extensions???

Hi, again! I've tried looking through the forum for the answer to this, but it seems that everyone else just wants to eliminate duplicates from their playlists. Can't imagine why. :P I am converting all of my .m4p files to .mp3 files. I want to verify that I have one .mp3 for every .m4p. I can't use...

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012

I just wanted to let you know that I tested out my idea of being able to have multiple results for a single tag using the semi-colon. It does work. However, even going through find one by one, I still ended up with duplicates in many of my Genre fields. I used the Find & Replace add-on to eliminate ...

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012

Hi! Thank you so much for this complex add-on. I have been toying with it for a couple of weeks now. I've creating multiple white lists, black lists, and keep lists to try out. I've dug through the the thread many many times, and I feel I learn something new every time I come here, though I still fe...

Working with the Genre field? help?

Hey! I'm making so much progress. MM is such a wonderful product. So much better than that i  whatever. :P Anyway, the programmer in me is a little frustrated. I feel like there should be a way to do some of the things I want to do and maybe I just haven't poked around enough to figure it out ...

Re: Checkbox: Which songs [not] to play

I just dropped in to say thanks to the person who suggested the star system. I hadn't read the thread when it occurred to me a few days ago that it could be used for that since I never actually used ratings in iTunes. I set up a playlist called "Songs I Know" which are basically all the songs I can ...

Re: Pls Help w/ complex auto-organize mask

OK What if, I know that "Musical" is always going to be last, but I don't know how many other possible genre designations might be there? I see that you can use that "skip" option, but you have to know where in the string it's always going to be. I have three "special" genres that always appear at t...

Pls Help w/ complex auto-organize mask

I think I finally have all of the current tracks on my PC correctly labeled as far as album, artist, album artist, and title. I've also added a genre of Musical to anything like Cats , Hair , A Chorus Line , etc. (That will be important in a bit.) Now I want to set up my Auto-Organize so as I re-add...

Re: Reorganizing Library, Album Artist = Artist, Genres...

Thank you for answering! Everything I have is either in mp3 or m4a formats. I've been trying to figure out the whole mask thing the last few days. And I finally think I figured out where I was going so wrong (ie. not getting any results at all) with the GenreFinder, but again like the masks, i don't...
