Is anything going to happen with this? It doesn't seem like it is in the 2.5 beta.

That worked, although I had to change it a little. I can't add the MediaID to the query string, because I can't get it until I have the song. So, I query for the driveless path, and then if it is found, I compare it's driveletter to the one passed in.
Thanks for all the help.

Can the SongsDB COM object throw exceptions instead of

displaying error dialogs in MM? I am trying to automate things, and if something bad happens, I am forced to manually click on the cancel retry ignore dialog instead of dealing with it in code.

I found doing a GC.Collect after setting my SDBSongIterator and SDBSongData objects to null prevents me from getting that error anymore with QuerySongs.

a) I am using C#. I am using the SongsDB com object via COM Interop. In c#, the simplest string concat is +. b) I am forced to use AND by MM. If I take your example and try to call it: ISDBApplication songsApp = new SDBApplicationClass(); SDBSongIterator MMiter = (SDBSongIterator)songsApp.Database.Q...

When I say chokes, I mean I get a sql error from MM rather than an error on the client side.

not in C#. String concat is + not &.
Or are you talking about the quoting?

How do I escape invalid path characters

What can I re...

I am having this same problem when calling OpenSQL from my c# program. After a while I get the same error, and have to shut down. Is there a way to force the tables to close?

This doesn't happen with mine. My apps are working regardless of whether MM is already running. Do you have any scripts that run at startup for MM that maybe get run again and could be blocking it?

What do you mean blocks?
My two line program reaches line two:

ISDBApplication app = new SDBApplicationClass();
bool isRunning = app.IsRunning;

When does it block?

There is nothing even close with smart playlists. Although, you could script them in MM. An iPod without iTunes only has half a brain playlist wise, since only LastPlayed and Rating update live on the ipod. Everything else requires a sync. However, i would much rather have that functionality in MM.

It sorts them to the top. :)
I use it for category type folders, like genre, so that they don't intermix with other windows normal folders.
