Re: Address the MM5 from an external app
You should try this with visual studio 2022 - I've got it working now - although there are one or two changes in functionality I'm trying to figure out.

Re: Adding reference to Visual Studio project [#17897]
I managed to get the reference added in Visual Studio 2022, you might like to test it, but it appears to be working here. Still can't get my application to work as there have been some changes, but I've posted another thread about that.

SongsDB5.SDBApplication in vb.net
I've finally managed to get the MM5 reference to open in Visual Studio 2022, and now am converting my application to use the new SongsDB5, instead of the MM4 SongsDB. I understand that some of the functionality has changed, but all I'm interested in doing is running SQL queries, updating a custom fi...

Re: Adding reference to Visual Studio project [#17897]
I notice that this has been again pushed back, now to 5.1. I appreciate that there are a lot of other things to do and fixes aren't always easy, but I'm disappointed that after a year I've still not been able to get my application to work with MM5. Perhaps I should have re-written it at the beginnin...

Re: Adding reference to Visual Studio project [#17897]
I think it's due for a fix in 5.0.3. I would guess that there are higher priorities.

Re: Adding reference to Visual Studio project
It would be really helpful if anybody who has managed to get the com reference to work in visual studio 2019 to let me know what version of VS they are using please. If anybody has visual studio installed and hasn't tried to add the com reference then I'd be grateful if they could give it a go and l...

Re: SDB.Database.OpenSQL Interator Issue
I couldn't get the MM5 com object to work at all in vb.net (using visual studio 2019). I assume you got it to work, but how is yours set up?
I'd like to get it working, because otherwise I'll have to rewrite my apps, but maybe this is the push I need to get me to learn javascript.

Re: SDB.Database.OpenSQL Interator Issue
What happens if you change this code: Console.WriteLine("databaseIterator:" & databaseIterator.ToString) to Console.WriteLine("databaseIterator:" & databaseIterator) ?? Can you verify that databaseIterator is the type of object that you think it is? The error message &quo...

Re: Adding reference to Visual Studio project
Thanks for your reply. I've gone through it all again, removed all the existing references from the project and re-added the MM4 COM reference with no problem. Then removed it again and attempted to add the MM5 reference with the same error as above. The same thing happens with an otherwise blank pr...

Adding reference to Visual Studio project [#17897]
I have a couple of visual studio projects that I wrote to work with MM4 which I'd like to get updated for MM5 and I'm getting an error when I try to add the reference to Mediamonkey's COM object to the project, as per this page: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/Controlling_MM5_from_External_Applicat...

Re: Alexa remote
I know this post is a couple of years old but here's my input. The best I could get for Alexa playing my own music was mymediaforalexa which scans your drive for music and then can play on command. Obviously this doesn't mesh with mediamonkey, but you can export the last few days play data from the ...

Re: Using Phone as kind of a "wifispeaker"
I think I'm looking for same thing but just in case there is another solution... I want to access my library remotely and play through different speakers in the house. Having the audio stream to the device would be the best solution as I could then just use bluetooth from the device to stream to th...

Re: Using Phone as kind of a "wifispeaker"
Hey everybody, I got the following problem. I want to use my phone (android) to play to the music, that is currently playing on my computer. For example: My Pc running MediaMonkey is in my living room but I am in the kitchen. Can I stream the music to my phone? I know I can access my database and e...

New Monkey Mate
Hello everybody, This is the new version of Monkey Mate. I have uploaded it to a server so that anybody who is interested can have a look and give me some feedback before I submit it to the MediaMonkey add-ons section. I'd really appreciate any feedback anybody has, and feel free to criticize but pl...

Re: How to stream from outside the home network
I've been using bubbleupnp on my android to stream my mediamonkey library over the internet. There's a windows phone app too, and I believe you can use foobar2000 to stream to a windows PC.
