Feature: Options in Auto-Organise to remove or replace problem characters in filenames

This issue has been kicking around for years, and it's still causing problems. I recently had my music server (Logitech Media Server) choke on some new files I had added, because the tags (and thence filenames in auto-organise) contained Unicode characters including- Left/right single and double quo...

Feature: Add recently-added files to "Files to Edit"

When I rip a CD I then immediately want to tag and auto-organise the files, and add album cover art. So "last ripped CD" is also inherently "next thing I want to tag", but there's no fast way to do this in MM. The workaround I use is to go into "Files to tag" and search for files with no artwork, bu...

Re: Auto-organise- unsupported/dangerous characters in filenames

Well, this deals with the specific cases I've found so far (except MM won't create a filename with 3 trailing dots it seems, (i.e filename...). but it's not pretty, and it won't deal with Unicode chars I haven't seen before. Auto-Organise rule that deals with- Folder/Directory Unicode "Smart" left/r...

Auto-organise- unsupported/dangerous characters in filenames

Client: Windows 7 Pro 64bit File Server: Debian Buster/Sid with Logitech Media Server (LMS) I know this is a question that's been answered before , but I am am looking for some more detail on the answer. I recently had a problem with my music server (LMS) not scanning all my music files, and after s...

Re: Discogs Tagger 5.64 (Updated: 2018-11-01)

MediaMonkey: 4.1.21.1875 OS: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit I just installed Discogs-Tagger for the first time. It seems to work "kind-of", but the behaviour is different to both the description at the head of this thread and the PDF on how to configure the link to a Discogs account, so i'm having some troubl...

Getting Started- Extracting Images to folder.jpg

I have just installed Album Art Tagger as I want to do some cleanup. Having trouble with the very first step, so I assume i'm doing something wrong. Setup My files are all stored on a Synology NAS in FLAC format with embedded image tags. File organisation mask is: \\{NAS Name}\music\Library\<Album A...

Re: The Compilation Tag yet again

Note I installed the "Custom Fields Tagger" plugin to see if that would help, but it doesn't list the COMPILATION field either, and although the field list is customisable by tweaking the code, it seems to indicate it will only work with fields it knows about, so i'm not sure that's going to help.

Re: The Compilation Tag yet again

Cant the group tag be used as the comp.... tag Most of my files are in FLAC format. FLAC supports a specific COMPILATION tag (that is apparently expected to be set to "1" for a compilation. Squeezeserver looks at that tag specifically, I don't think you can just re-use another tag for that purpose....

The Compilation Tag yet again

I've been using MediaMonkey to rip and organise my music for 6 or so years. The files are stored on a (now rather old) Synology NAS box and played via Squeezebox server and a Logitech Duet player. In all this time one ongoing niggle has been the fact that compilations ("Various Artist" tracks where ...

Re: Problem playing files from Synology NAS via DLNA

Have you tried playing the files fron Synology NAS via DLNA using another DLNA client (like WMP)? If that also fails the problem most likely lies with the NAS or the network connection between NAS and PC. Windows Media Player detects the library on the NAS but doesn't find any music in there (not e...

MediaMonkey: 4.0.7.1511 Synology OS: DSM 2.0-0728 I have a (6 years old but still going strong) Synology Cubestation CS406 machine, on which i have my music collection. The main music collection is ripped to FLAC, but I also have pre-transcoded MP3 versions on there for loading onto my kids portable...

Automating window restore with AutoHotKey

OS: Windows 7 Pro 64bit MM: 4.0.3.1470 AutoHotKey: 1.0.48.05 I've been a MediaMonkey user for years, but after buying a new keyboard with fewer multimedia control keys I thought i'd have a go at trying to control MM with what seems to be the most popular keyboard macro tool on Windows: AutoHotkey. I...

Re: Auto-organise rules weirdness, collections

Auto-Organize and Auto-Organize Files are 2 independent features. Thanks for the info. Now, given that everything you might want to auto-organise in MediaMonkey IS a file, I would say that having Auto-Organise and Auto-Organise Files as two disconnected functions that do the same thing (organise fi...
