Re: Non resposive and stuck repeating a few bars at end of song

Same issue here. Random tracks. Doesn't happen consistently with any given track. Pressing "Next" starts next song as expected, increments play count on last song, and updates Last Played date. Running latest release version (4.1.24.1883), but it has been happening for awhile now with prev...

Re: Sync two Windows computers

MediaMonkey can scan files from a Media Server. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it (preferring direct access), but you'd have the benefit of a local database which is faster and allows much better searching. Fascinating! I never noticed that node at the bottom of the list before! Might have to try...

Re: Sync two Windows computers

That'll probably cause problems as playing a file will write to the database, among many other things you can do in MediaMonkey. Maybe a separate share that isn't read-only. D'oh! Yeah, unless very graceful fails were coded in, damn... If you want true read-only you can use Media Sharing and access...

Wonderful! Sorry I didn't ask at the same time -- what about the database itself? (Where more "trouble" could actually occur.) If that's shared read-only, that'll work as well?

Re: Sync two Windows computers

If you use the Addon to change the Paths, you'll still have a single entry for the files, but now in the new location. Do make sure that you disable Folder Monitoring on the D drive and that you don't scan it anymore. MediaMonkey will see the D drive and network Path files as 2 different files, thu...

Re: Sync two Windows computers

If you want to access the files from their UNC Path instead of the local drive letter you can use: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=63823&hilit=update+location+of+files+in+database You don't need to move the files, you just need to tell the database to use a different P...

Re: Sync two Windows computers

Many will have their files on a network share instead of on 2 or more computers and the database can be shared: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/48/0/mediamonkey-in-a-shared--networked-environment Would like to do this, but am concerned with the first step t...

Re: Rollbacks, database backups, etc.

Yeah, I've never had to rollback MM or lost a DB, and it wasn't a good feeling to think I'd gotten complacent with backing-up that database, but it hit me when the new build started crashing. So good to know it's not generally going to be a breaking change. I don't think I've been using it that long...

Re: Rollbacks, database backups, etc.

Most updates allow you to use the DB with an older version. Also on big database updates a copy of the old database is made as a prexxx file. Oh, that's very good news! Not a common situation at all, so I'd not even considered it before with MM. Is a "big database update" another way of s...

Rollbacks, database backups, etc.

Updating to build 1853 recently, I noticed on startup that the database was being updated. As we came to find out, this was a very troublesome build! Had I not had the time, inclination, or skills to help out with debugging it... It'd be so nice to have some sort of rollback feature! Or, at the very...

Re: MM 4.1.18 crashes after double clicking a song [#14466]

Hi, for all that can replicate the crash in 4.1.19.1854. Could you please replace your current id3lib.dll in the MM install folder by this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/14jnunmf10ak75o/id3lib.dll?dl=0 and tell us whether it solves the issue? Cautiously optimistic! I've made the swap, and played ent...

Re: MM 4.1.18 crashes after double clicking a song

The capture this in a debug log (step 4b) as the beta works for others and attach the log to a Support Ticket Done, thanks. For those experiencing this issue: are you clicking the track within MediaMonkey ? or within Windows Explorer? Playing within MediaMonkey. Doesn't seem to matter if I double-c...

Re: MM 4.1.18 crashes after double clicking a song

I installed 4.1.18 yesterday, and immediately started seeing the same error, so on this advice went ahead and updated to 4.1.19.1854. No joy. Here, it just blows randomly, usually while playing the first song or almost as often right after moving on to the next track, while playing in the background...

Re: Faulty Folder Monitoring

Bump! I'm on 4.1.3.1708 now, and the problem persists. Another easy repro. If music files are added to a sibling folder of the one selected, they show up in the one selected. But only momentarily. Go to the folder where they were added, and they'll be there. Go back to where you were, and they're go...
