Re: MM syncing beyond database capacity crashing iPod

Greetings. I have an iPod classic 160gb. I don't know what generation that would be. It was the very last model made that still has a hard drive. I use smart playlists so I don't have any way to determine how many tracks were synced. I could access the filesystem through Disk Mode reboot then connec...

Re: Unselected smart playlists are synced to iPod

That's by design. Parent Playlists of selected Child Playlists are also synced. It doesn't make sense then to allow a hierarchical node tree in the sync list, then use all the conventions which imply the parent is NOT synced but a child is. Why bother having a hierarchy if in fact, it is not? This ...

MM syncing beyond database capacity crashing iPod

Version: 4.1.15.1828 MM syncs with my iPod beyond database capacity. The progress bar at the bottom that shows remaining capacity seems to be irrelevant. Under certain circumstances, when a sufficient number of songs are synced, and the iPod is disconnected properly, the iPod then gets into a perpet...

Unselected smart playlists are synced to iPod

Version: 4.1.15.1828 It has taken me over 2 years to figure this out. I have created a number of Smart Playlists. I have organized smart playlists by nesting some inside of another. For example: [o] Rock 3+ [x] Rock 4+ [x] Rock 5+ In this example, this dynamically builds playlists based on the Genre...

Re: iPod 160gb corruption loop

Does this have anything to do with it? https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1319682?start=0&tstart=0 I restarted the iPod in file mode... SELECT+MENU then SELECT+PLAY to get it into file mode. MM then recognized it. From the properties in MM for the iPod, I deselected half the auto playlists I wante...

iPod 160gb corruption loop

I've been having a corruption issue for over a year now. Basically, when I sync with MM, it eventually corrupts the database and either: the iPod shows the Apple logo indefinitely during start the iPod gets into an indefinite reboot loop various songs will crash the iPod, resulting into an infinite ...

MM sync causes endless rebooting iPod Classic 160gb

I've been adding more songs to my collection. I recently synced my collection to my iPod Classic 160gb. After ejecting it, the iPod kept going into an endless reboot loop until the battery died. I managed to get YamiPod to repair the database although it destroyed all the playlists and therefore all...

File List bug

I am classifying new music... After I select all the songs, then change something on the selection (e.g. Genre), the listing does not update. If I click elsewhere outside the MM window, the listing updates. The selected items still stay selected. It seems like an event is not calling the appropriate...

Re: Request method for custom Moods & Occassions

You can add any by just typing them in the Properties. You can also edit/remove and move position (drag & drop) entries in the Media Tree. Thanks lowlander. By properties, are you referring to right clicking and selecting Properties? If so, I am aware of that. I also manually edit the Mood/Occasion...

Autoplaylists: allow AND/OR, and more CONTAINS statements

I use Autoplaylists almost exclusively. The problem is that my collection has grown so big that many songs have multiple Genres, Moods, and Occasions separated by a comma or semi-colon. I typically build autoplaylists that read something like "SELECT if Rating > 3 AND Genre CONTAINS "XYZ" and Mood i...

Request method for custom Moods & Occassions

I know that you can edit the database but this is difficult and risky. In my case, I can't get the tool to edit the file and it's a huge pain. I would like to customize the list of Moods and Occassions to standardize my selections in the drop down menus of each file. This feature should be somewhere...

Re: M4A not playing on iPod after sync with conversion

Often, Demuxed files do not contain correct header files and are very specific. VLC is made to support headerless files and usually it is the only app that can play them. If you can find file that is not playable in MMW nor playable on iPod after MMW correctly play both original and converted file ...

Re: M4A not playing on iPod after sync with conversion

Lowlander wrote:Were the M4A files purchased from Apple (in which case they may have DRM copyright protection)?
Negative. They are from Youtube. I use YouTube Video and Audio Downloader 0.4.6. It demuxes the MP4 file into a video file and an M4A. VLC doesn't show it as having DRM and VLC plays it just fine.

Re: M4A not playing on iPod after sync with conversion

Are they synced as M4A files to the iPod or as MP3 (converted) files? They are stored on the PC as m4a files. Initially I left the conversion settings in MM untouched - so the only parameter in there was the automatic conversion of incompatible file types. With this configuration, I noticed that ce...

M4A not playing on iPod after sync with conversion

m4a songs will not play on my iPod 160gb. They play within mediamonkey correctly. I have the conversion settings to convert any incompatible audio into mp3 audio. The iPod sees the file and displays the song info and cover graphic for about 2 seconds but then skips to the next song. MediaMonkey 4.1....
