Re: Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

Hello, again -- I have decided to get my wireless speaker out of the closet, dust it off, and try once again to get it to work with MMW. What can I say? I'm a masochist, apparently. Here is the situation at this time: I can play my audio files to the wireless speaker using WMP or simply by navigatin...

Re: Files (songs) not recognized as audio content

A question. Are you saying that if you access MMW using DLNA and try to play Tracks from Audio CDs that are cached in Virtual CD they are reported as non audio format but they play as normal in MMW itself? Right, mostly. In my many attempts to make this work, I connected to MMW using the SongPal ap...

Okay, I did not know to do this, so will try it when I get home. (Warned you that I was a noob...)

Re: Files (songs) not recognized as audio content

The SongPal app recognizes the MediaMonkey server (my PC) and the MediaMonkey library, but when I select a file from the server or the library, they're not "audio content." I'd prefer to control the playback of audio files using MM, but can't figure out how to "cast" it to the wi...

Re: Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

I.GIVE.UP. I cannot figure out how to play songs in MMW and listen to them on my wireless speaker. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong in MM or if my PC is set up incorrectly or if it's the speaker, but it's not working. I'm going to forget about MM, return the speaker to Amazon, and lick my w...

Re: Files (songs) not recognized as audio content

Gonna reply to myself on this one. It occurs to me that what I want to do with the DLNA is push it from my PC to the speaker, not pull it (which is what the SongPal app wants to do, I suspect). Off to figure out how to push from Win 10...

Files (songs) not recognized as audio content [#14142]

I put a bunch of cd's into my MMW library as virtual cd's and they play fine on my PC. However, the SongPal app (to stream them to a Sony wireless speaker) doesn't recognize these files as "audio content." This worries me and now I'm wondering what format these virtual cd's are actually in...

Re: Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

Pavle -- I'd prefer to not spend more than about $200 (or so) per speaker. We only have one TV and don't plan to run it through the wireless speakers; we're not big tv watchers. I have a couple of older wired speakers (and 20+ year-old amp) but also hadn't planned to run the signal through them, alt...

Re: Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

Thanks, Pavle, but doesn't BT have limited range? My house isn't huge but I'd want the signal to travel from one end to the other and through walls. I hadn't been thinking about multi-room use when I started this project and am now wondering if using MM was a mistake. It has worked great for convert...

Re: Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

Thanks, Lowlander -- This is quite helpful. I was looking at Bose but they require bluetooth and that seems like a weak link in the chain (although the Bose salesman felt otherwise, of course). I'll see what else I can find!

Noob Questions about Wireless Speakers

Apologies upfront for the super-basic nature of these questions! I am running MM 4.1.14.1813 on a PC laptop with Win 10 and have copied my CDs to an external hard drive (as Virtual CDs). I would like to get some wireless speakers to place around the house so that I can list to music (primarily the a...
