HTPCs with LCD Displays

I am thinking of moving my music server set-up to a HTPC box. As a number of these have LCD displays. Does anyone know of any plug-ins that will display MM player information thereby removing the need to use a monitor when just playing music. I would be interested to learn what brand of LCD module p...

Re: Moving Files to New Location and using MM on a network

Thanks again Lowlander. Once again please pardon my lack of technical expertise but does what you have said about MM4 suggest that it will run outside of the windows environment or have I misunderstood?

Re: Moving Files to New Location and using MM on a network

Thanks Lowlander. At the moment I have all 3 items stored on a Dell PC which transmits the music to my music system via a USB port then a Xitel Pro Hifi Link (to convert USB to SPDIF) and then an external DAC which is incorporated into my CD player. My music is stored in WAV or FlAC. I use the ASIO4...

Re: Moving Files to New Location and using MM on a network

Please pardom my technical ignorance but where is the MM program actually stored? Is it on the NAS? If so I am wondering if it is possible to use a cable directly between it and one of the new proliferation of music hubs now available from Hi Fi manufacturers or would it be necessary to run the conn...

M2 Tech Hiface USB to SPDIF converter

Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience using this device with MM? If so, how do you rate it?

All the best for the festive season.

volume of digitised vinyl

The software I use called LP Recorder from Xitel tends to record vinyl relatively softly. I usually store all my files in wav format and use levelling on playback. However, I recently had an occassion to convert some of these files to MP3 for another application and the result was low volume MP3s. S...

Re: File Monitor running slowly

Thanks for the response. I am reasonably confident that that this was the problem because the sluggishness went when it was turned off. However, since my last posting, after 2-3 days the file monitor got through all my files and on restart of MM all is working properly on this front. I also had to t...

File Monitor running slowly

I recently downloaded MM beta 3.1.2.1275 due to the recent problems with iTunes 9. I usually have the file monitor turned on and find this is running very slowly since the ITunes problems and affecting play back of music because my system is now quite sluggish with MM playing. I only have a P4 2.8gh...

Re: iTunes 9.0 Compatibility

I have now installed MM version 3.1.2.1275 and removed Itunes and QT but am now getting the message again that I must have Itunes and quicktime installed to use the M4A plugin. Do I need to do this again. It didn't seem to be the case before this recent problem announced by this thread. Also MM now ...

Re: Audiophile digital music setup

I use 2 devices in the line between my PC and amplifier. The first is a Xitel box which converts the USB signal in to a coax or optical digital out. (It is also a DACin itself but I just use it in the mode described.) I then use either a Musical Fidelity DAC to upsample to 192 or the digital in of a...

Re: Slight problem with Mini Lyrics Plug in

I have only been using it for 2 days, I have mainly 60s and 70s music stored as wav files, but it appears that lyrics are only available for less than half of the songs I have played so far. Is there any way of improving this? Also last night, the plug-in seemed to take control of MM and I had to te...

Slight problem with Mini Lyrics Plug in

I have downloaded the software and embedder but the lyrics do not align with the window created by MM3. Is there a way of getting it to fit exactly?

Thanks

Re: Audiophile digital music setup

I too use an external "soundcard" (Xitel) and find this works well just converting the USB output to SPDIF. It comes with 30ft cables and so my computer is well away from my HiFi. The sound is further processed by a Cambridge Audio DAC embedded in a CD Player. I use a Dell server which seems relativ...

Re: Burning Flac Files to DVD

Thanks - I did not realise the wizard was looking at the library rather than the hard disc itself. Putting the tracks in the library solved the problem.

Burning Flac Files to DVD

I used MM3 to convert wav files to FLAC format and stored all the converted files in one directory. When I try to use the burning wizard to now burn these filed to DVD the wizard can't "see" the directory in which the files are stored but lists all other directories that contain music files. Is this...
