How to store info in MM re:Vinyl records (but no music)

Problem: If one has a vinyl collection, how can one get data (track names, album art, etc) into Mediamonkey to unify a music collection that has vinyl and CD. Answer: You can't easily as data input only comes form CDs However I feel this workaround might be useful. It takes most (but not all) of the...

Re: Controlling MM remotely (networked laptop)

I have used VNC successfully.

I have a small, old laptop(with VNC client), controlling a high resolution large (23") screen (VNC server). Accordingly, MediaMonkey needs to be resized for optimal use.

The VNC (using wireless G) is slightly sluggish but certainly tolerable.

And the price is ideal

Re: Audiophile digital music setup

Buy an Airport Express (AE) and configure it for your network ($100.00). You actually just need a wireless card in the PC, not an entire router but either will do. Buy Remote Speaker Output by Eric Miles ($25.00). Configure it to the AE. Under Tools-> Output The PC can now stream to the AE from Meda...

Re: MM as a server

1) You can stream from a computer (such as your laptop) presuming it has a wireless card, to an Apple Airport Express. Other routers are not required. This works well. 2) You could use a laptop as a giant, sophisticated remote control (via remotedesktop or equivalent) to control the PC in scenario #...

Re: Wireless Transmission

An inexpensive wireless technique is to use Eric Milles Remotespeakers output ($25.00) to an Airport express (AE) ($100.00). You need a wireless card in your PC to communicate with the AE. A router can be in the system but is not required. I have found this to work reliably 100% of the time. I have ...

For best possible sound

There has been discussion on various web sites regarding how to get the best possible sound out of one's music player. I am not technical enough to do more than parrot some of what I have read. There is a "bad thing" in Windows called a "K mixer" to be avoided. I have read of other "bad things" but ...

Re: Converting FLAC to Apple Lossless

I think dbPowerAmp can convert AIFF to FLAC.
Perhaps it can also go the other way.
Check their website for info

Itunes and AIFF files

I have ripped some CD's as AIFF on MAC, using Itunes Album art largely there in Itunes. I installed a plug in for AIFF files for MediaMonkey. I copied the previously imported the files to my HD and imported them in MM. Files are all there Files play OK Songs are titled correctly; directories under l...

Re: Edit MM.DB using Microsoft access?

I think MM uses SQLite now.

There is an add-in for Mozilla Firefox that lets you view information

I do not believe that lets you create any reports, however.

Re: Typical BAD Programmers

If you were making $2k/hr, why are you installing/hassling/getting upset re: a free (or nearly free) program?

Pay some junior high or high school kid $50.00 who knows how to do this stuff to do it and be done with it..

Then you could enjoy the music.

Re: Sound through multiple outputs possible?

Get an Apple Airport Express ("AE")- ~$100.00 (or 2 or 3...) Get Eric Milles software - ~$25.00 (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia ... kers.shtml) This will allow you to stream music from MediaMonkey to the AE via your home wirelesss network The AE has adequate analogue output or a digital out...

AIFF support

Does MediaMonkey support playing AIFF files? (as best I can tell, the answer is no).

If not, what would the experts recommend as a way to convert AIFF to FLAC or WAV or (other lossless format) supported by MM, trying to maintain art work, tags, etc (as much as possible)..

Thanks

Re: MM in network: best choice of hardware/software?

So let me ask this. If you had music files in an accessible location on a network, shared multiple machines on network that can see the music files Media Monkey on each machine that can see the music files a database on each machine created by scanning the music files on that PC Could one that have ...
