Yes, I have tried that too. It's a nice feature to have, but it's as tedious as the other methods, especially for heavily nested folder structures. Thanks for the suggestion, though!

If you're talking about "Autotag from filename," wouldn't that have this result? - year: 1950 title: A sad tale That is not what I want at all. As a matter of fact, I don't want to do ANYTHING to the tag. I want the filename itself to be changed to 1950.10.30-A Sad Tale.mp3. Am I missing something i...

Thank you, kind sir! So, by fixing ID3Lib, I assume this will benefit ANY software app that uses it for tagging? Cool! Fortunately, I was smart enough to have made backups before using a "new" piece of software to modify my sound files, so I was able to recover the damaged files, but this fix will p...

Thanks, Peke, but I am not sure what you mean by "Too Large DirectSound Buffer (Or sound Buffer in some cases eg. SQR,...)." Can you tell me where to look for these settings? Thanks!

Adding trk to library: Can't select subfolder

When adding tracks to the the library, I have noticed that, in some cases, when I select the subfolder, its parent also gets selected. (If I uncheck it, the parent folder also gets unchecked.) Any idea why that might be happening? I don't want everything in the parent folder to be added!

Thanks!

I do appreciate the attention that you give to making the UI easy to use and understand. It is one of the slickest applications that I've discovered in a long time! It is always difficult to balance flexibility, power, and ease of use, but MM does a very good job at it.

Also, the help file says that the volume coeffient is NOT stored in the ID3 tag. Is this true? Is there any reason not to do this? Apparently it is an accepted "standard" in a number of MP3 players (according to the website quoted above).

That worked. Thanks! It was not obvious to me that the 'Update Track info from Tags when re-adding files' option actually controls whether or not the file gets rescanned. I guess I viewed the signature information as being a database entry, not a tag field (which is why I didn't selection the 'Updat...

Option to Analyze Volume by album

The Analyze Volume feature is very nice when I am listening to a bunch of unrelated songs; however, it is not ideal for listening to a set of related songs (i.e. those in an album) where I WANT relatively quiet tracks (compared to other tracks on the album) to stay quiet. MM's Help has a link to the...

"Analyze tracks for duplicates" after trk already

How do I "Analyze tracks for duplicates" after a track is already in the library? I decided that I want to use this feature AFTER I had already added a bunch of tracks to the library. When I re-add the tracks to the library, the SignPart1, 2, 3, and 4 fields in the database don't get updated like th...

Examples: 1) Filename to filename rename example: 1950-10-30 A Sad Tale. I want it to look like 1950.10.30-A Sad Tale. (Then I'll synchronize the Title tag with it via Auto-tag.) Standalone rename tools can do stuff like that. (I use Rname-it.) MM can't as far as I can tell. 2) Tag info to tag renam...

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. I haven't really looked into plug-ins yet since I've been happy with the MM's defaults, but you're right - maybe one would help with this problem.

I'll find a small mp3 and e-mail it to you. Thanks again!

How are "hidden" database fields used by MM?

There are some fields in the Access database, like Comments in the Artists table and Year in the Albums table, that I can't see any way to update via MM. Can MM update those fields somehow, or are they there for future (or past) use?
