Re: How does a SSD drive behave with mm.db

Now then, tell me this: When should I do Quick, as opposed to Complete Optimize Database. Is one more frequent - the other now and then, or what? Well obviously one takes longer, so you ca do the quick one when you don't have time for the complete. Honestly though, I have a *HUGE* database (~1.3gb)...

Re: MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 Not shutting down in a timely man

well, sqlite itself is not really well suited for multiple/shared access. And since you already seem to be aware of the file locking problems, I would make sure you have daily/weekly backups incase multiple people do something that tries to update the db at the same time.

Re: [1440] New scripts not showing up

today I created a portable version of mm 4 - 1501, and both db audit and db clean fail to show up after restarting MM. They do appear in the tools > scripts menu after initial installation, but not after restarting. And it appears that installing one will remove the other from the scripts menu (befo...

tags from folder names work exactly the same as tags from file name.

Re: Volume levelling across ALL TRACKS

Hello, I have a mixture of WAV and FLAC files ripped twith Medi Monkey. flac and wav files are both lossless, there is absolutely *ZERO* difference in audio quality. How do I ensure that the volume levelling across all tracks are in proportion to one another. Click the 'play' menu, click 'level pla...

Re: MediaMonkey 4.0.6.1501 Not shutting down in a timely man

I would recommend not putting the database on a shared drive, there are various performance and file locking problems that can occur that will likely corrupted the db beyond salvage (always have a recent backup copy).

Re: How does a SSD drive behave with mm.db

While it is true that it is not recommended to defrag SSD, simply because of the increased read/write wear (flash memory can only handle so many writes), there is a difference between the logical fragmentation (that the OS see's) and the wear-leveling techniques used to distribute the data across th...

Re: Last.FM Node: dynamic node based on last.fm 2009.08.17 [

I would recommend you keep the 'limit available tracks' to 30 to 50 for best results. In most cases, lastfm will return a list of about 250 tracks, the above option will limit the number of tracks *found in your library*. So if lastfm returns 250, your library has 100 of those 250, and you set that ...

Re: Last.FM Node: dynamic node based on last.fm 2009.08.17 [

it still works fine for me, but it looks like there is simply no similar tracks (yet) for that song

http://www.last.fm/music/Tanita+Tikaram ... n/+similar

It is either too new, or not popular enough, or last fm has not generated the similar tracks data yet.

Re: FLAC Lossless Uncompressed

I read parts of the thread, this in particular was pretty hilarious.. I understand your "bits is bits" position, you've made it several times....I just don't agree at all with it...it's clearly debatable (hundreds of posts about wav vs "x" on many sites)..it's not empirical. I hear cable differences...
