Hi there, I organize my stuff by Artist > Album > Track. Compilations go into directory Various (as in Artists ;-)). Soundtracks go into directory Soundtracks. Tracks off compilations and soundtracks are named "Album Track# - Artist - Track". Tracks off albums by a single artist are names "Artist - ...

Hi there, I still use CDEx for ripping: It is simply more configurable, has LAME, Freedb upload, and several other options MM doesn't provide (yet?). For tagging MP3s, I do use MM most of the time by now - except when I want to work on directory hierarchies. MM doesn't have an option for that so I r...

Some small issues with 2.3 Beta 2 (Build 826)

Hi all, just installed the latest build and found some small issues. The installation went into the directory where MM 2.2 sat before. I'm on Windows XP SP1. - My Gold registration was not recognized, had to re-register. - *Some* (not all) of my options had gone away, e.g. directories to be scanned ...

Build 757: Shortcuts for playing track / editing properties

Hi all, another issue with build 757: In previous versions, I had MM configured so that double-clicking would show track properties and pressing enter would play the track. That feature doesn't seem to be available any more. Setting the action for double-click in the Player options will set the othe...

File renaming problem persists with build 757

Hi all,

I'm now running 2.2.1.757 but still files are renamed with the "wrong" characters. Tried this with both the ASCII and the Unicode settings. Both will not replace characters as set in my .ini. Did the mappings change or is this issue still unresolved?

Cheers!

My biggest wish: Insert data from non-electronic media (it'll be hell to enter all my LPs but I'd love to have a comprehensive database some time).

Upload data to freedb would be nice.

Fuzzy search (I know Access doesn't support this ;-))

Cheers!

MM2.2 Beta5: Issue with file renaming

Hi all, didn't install RC1 yet but this may still apply: I did a fresh install of MM 2.2 beta 5 on a new (XP) PC and copied over my mm.ini from the old (MM 2.1 on Win2k) installation. The ini contains a lot of mapping of 8-bit to 7-bit ASCII for renaming files from MP3 tags. It used to work very wel...

Bug? Adding tracks to library

Hi all, I hope this is not a bug but still: I run MM 2.1 (Build 596) and introduced a new database. Edited the MediaMonkey.ini file to point the installation to the new database. 1. I didn't edit anything else in the ini file so MM started by scanning all monitored directories. I changed the options...

Ignore accents for searches

Hi all, is there a setting to ignore accents while doing a search? Example: Songs by one group are listed under Artist="Téléphone" and Artist="Telephone". I'd want to find all songs by searching for "Telephone". (Yes, I do try to normalize my entries but sometimes but some always seem to escape...) ...

Rusty,

Tried your three steps on three files. It worked on one, didn't work on two. As you suggested, I sent you email with a link to those two files.

Hi all, Sort settings are set on a per view basis. Unfortunately, they do not persist (i.e. when you restart MM, the default sort settings will re-appear). I wish that were true: Seems to me you just have to hit "refresh" to set them back. I've seen that lately after adding some files (via Windows E...

Duplicate tags to another track

Hi all, not sure if this is for the wishlist - maybe I just haven't found out how to do it yet: I'd want to duplicate MP3 tags from one file to another - e.g. I have one track from an album that has all the proper artist/track/album info but other files have incomplete or wrong tags. With MM, I can ...
