Unsynchronized Tags / Synchonizing

Hi all, using MM 2.586 and found that "Unsynchronized Tags" (Tree View, "Files To Edit") all of a sudden shows a lot of files that weren't there before, were correctly tagged before and have no highlighted items at all. If I use "Tools | Advanced Tag Management | Synchronize Tags" on them (or other ...

Hi all, several people (including me) have expressed their wish for multiple DB support. I don't even need the fancy stuff you're talking about - after all if I want to merge the databases, why have them separate in the first place? My reason for multiple database support is that I have different re...

New build doesn't recognize license

Hi all,

installed the new build (563) over the old MM installation and it didn't recognize my Gold license - I had to enter it again. (It *did* keep my old configurations intact, though. ;-) )

Cheers. Susanne

Adding externally ripped tracks to Virtual CD

Hi all, how can I add CDs to the MM Virtual CD that I ripped with another tool? The intuitive way was to add the directory with its MP3s to the "Virtual CD" directory of MM, making sure the directory naming conventions are okay and starting MM. However, it didn't detect the new files - the correspon...

Hi all,

what about us old-time fans who bought a Gold license for Songs-DB when there was no restriction on versions? IMHO the least you can do is make all these old Songs-DB licenses lifetime MM ones and start the new license policy for new MM customers.

Cheers, Susanne

Wow, that was fast. Yes, I did in fact remove some of the genres in the table (after double-checking that they were not referenced, of course), so this is all my fault.

Thanks, Susanne

Genres screwed up

Hi all, I have MM2.0 RC-2 installed and just noticed - exporting the data - that the genres are all mixed up. In the genre tree, they show up as I have entered them but checking the title view shows a different or no genre for the titles. I don't see this effect with all genres but with most of them...

Sorry about the late reply. The problem is definitely with thread handling: A combination of trying to write into the library and trying to read tracks from another CD at the same time freezes the app reproducably. My database is now some 11MB - a lot more than when I started with Songs-DB, so maybe...

Hi all, installed MM-RC2 into a clean directory (I actually put RC1 into the Songs-DB directory alongside the old executables) and copied the .ini file from the old to the new directory. And - presto - all the settings are there. (Always make a backup... ;-) ) BTW, RC1 didn't ask me about an old Son...

Hi all, Freedb: I have quite a number of albums that are not in freedb (and which I'd like to enter there via MM, nudge nudge...) and always get empty returns on them. In that case, I enter the tracks as I would if I'd gotten a result and fill in the missing data myself. Sometimes, however, the data...

Sorry, it's me again, forgot something:

When I get Media Monkey in this state and try to exit it via the "File" Menu, it says "There are threads running. Terminate them?" Clicking "Yes" doesn't do any good, you have to terminate via Task Manager (see previous post).

Rusty, not exactly the same problem but here's something I *can* reproduce (no settings changed): Two CDs in the drives, queries to freedb go through okay. I right-click drive Y (the slave) and "Add tracks to database..." I right-click drive X (the master) and "Add tracks to database..." CD in drive...

Rusty, thanks for the fast feedback. Will keep the "Decimal" problem in mind. Associations: All audio is associated with Winamp. MM is also configured to use Winamp as the default player, and I don't use autostart on my CD drive. The freeze definitely happens when freedb is queried, i.e. there is no...

Rusty, I don't think the problem occured with build 540. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it at will - I *think* it may be related to switching CDs very fast on one drive and doing an "Add Tracks to database" on the other but it's not deterministic. If it happens again, I'll try to remember the exac...

MM2.0 (Build 544) freezes while looking up freedb

Hi all, I installed Media Monkey (Build 544) over my old Songs-DB installation and found that it retained almost all my old settings except for the Gold registration. I definitely liked this. However, when entering CDs I twice had the problem of MM freezing completely when looking up CDs in freedb: ...
