Re: Organize files

Folder: \\Woonkamer\doc woonkamer\Mijn muziek\ Mask: <Genre>\<Groeperen>\<Albumartiest>\<Album>\<Volgnummer:2> - <Titel> In 3.0, the folder was: \\Woonkamer\Doc woonkamer\Mijn muziek\ Changing the case of the first letter of the foldename has reduced the to-do-list to app 5% of the library?! Regards...

Organize files [#5615]

I run 1244 with auto-organize switched on. I also have the files monitored at startup. And indeed, all files appear in the right place. Changes are also reflected in the file name/directory. So that's perfect. However: the node unsorted tracks (or what's it called in English?) keeps showing all trac...

Re: MM in network: best choice of hardware/software?

Lowlander, yes, I've done that, latest build as soon as it was available. But unfortunately, it doesn't help. That's why I concluded to start this thread to try and find another work around.

Re: On tagging works by classical composers

There is a separate field for the writer of the lyrics (don't know how this field is called in English). I don't use that though. I use the full name of the composer, like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. I don't have that many songs with multiple composers, so I have no standard for that. You could use the...

Re: MM in network: best choice of hardware/software?

Yes, indeed this (multiple databases, shared MP3 collection) is the solution we have in mind "if nothing else works". But there is a serious downside: if you have your own database you also have your own playlists and non-mp3 info (like playcount). That setup is what we had with Windows Media Player...

Re: Database corrupted during conversion?

Rusty, yes, I waited until 1244 was available and then tried again immediately. It did not really make a difference. Note that I am doing this as a test, to try the limits and see if there is an improvement. In normal use, we don't start both MM's with auto-scan on! But it must be said: when one of ...

Re: Database corrupted during conversion?

I think I get the point: this is not a bug/error/shortcoming in MM, but a result of the combination of underlying database/hardware etc. So: in fact not a topic for the beta forum. Correct me if I'm wrong! I'll post a thread in the general forum for further suggestions how to best avoid the problems...

MM in network: best choice of hardware/software?

We are 2 heavy MM users, and want to share 1 library. We use MM from 4 networked XP PC's. One of the PC's hosts the MP3 collection, and the MM database. We experience a lot of problems (locked database, error messages, crashes, MM hanging). This happens especially when one of us is doing something e...

Re: Database corrupted during conversion?

Thanks for the respons. Indeed, SQLiteSafety = 2. The hosting server is a windows PC (XP). We did have this problem with 3.0 initially, but after some time the problem "faded out". It occured, but so incidentally that we could accept it. I don't understand why, though. We're really very pleased with...

Re: On tagging works by classical composers

Indeed: freedb, amazon etc are all quit useless for automatic tagging. If one wants a somewhat consistently managed classical music collection, one has to do a lot of manual administration... ;-( I find http://www.arkivmusic.com very helpfull for finding classical album art. Also for old CD's, that ...

Re: Database corrupted during conversion?

There a tick before this thread, don't know if that means that the matter is solved? Well, sorry: it isn't. I've installed 1244 on our 4 PC's. I start MM on the first, and make it scan the library. Then I start MM on the second: several errors messages, and then MM crashes. Some automated messages h...

Re: Database corrupted during conversion?

I've been trying to create a problem that I can reproduce. Well, this goes wrong every time I try. Setup: PC1 contains MM db and all MP3 files, PC 2 and PC 3 are user PC's running MM debug 1240. All PC's run XP. PC 1 is on, no MM running. I start MM on PC 2, with monitoring option on. While it is st...

Re: Select songs without cover art

No, that doesn't work for this. Because the songs do have album art - but not "cover" type.
