Re: 1249 starts after 3 minutes

I'm not aware of using this software in the first place...

Re: 1249 starts after 3 minutes

Good suggestion! Thanks! Unchecking the "Read CD-Text" box solves both problems: the slow start up and MM crashing when I insert a CD. I'm still a bit puzzled why this didn't happen before. And I wonder how it would impact ripping CD's. But since I don't intend to do that with MM, I don't bother too...

Re: 1249 starts after 3 minutes

Great, that's the explanation! Thanks! I must have put this CD in on the day I installed 1249. And left it there. What's your opinion: is it normal that it slows down the startup with 3 minutes? And I see another problem. I start MM without CD, put in a CD and MM hangs. It generates lots of e...

Re: 1249 starts after 3 minutes

In response to your questions/suggestions: - this is not a general complaint about my PC or MM being slow; after the 3 min delay, the MM performance is normal - my pc is generally in good shape, thank you - the 3 min delay happens consistently since I have installed 1249; it did not occur with previ...

1249 starts after 3 minutes

When I start 1249, it consistently waits 3 minutes before it starts scanning the library and showing tracks. Whichever node I select during these 3 minutes, it seems as if the library is empty. I don't know what MM is doing in the meantime.

Re: Organizing tracks: copy instead of move

Yes, I agree.
Even better: since I very rarely want a copy, I would prefer this to be a general setting. It's not something I want to be bothered with every time.

Re: Organizing tracks: copy instead of move

You're completely right.
I think I changed the setting unconsciously, maybe it changed when installing the new version.

Organizing tracks: copy instead of move

Organizing tracks manually (auto-organize is off) makes MM copy tracks, instead of moving them. The result is double tracks: on both the original and the new, proper location. If auto-organize is switched on again, the tracks on the original location are indeed moved to the proper location - but app...

Re: How do I know MM is ready searching?

Rusty, it's more a question than a problem. I think your explanation is clear enough. Essentially: when I don't see "reading tracks", I can assume the results are there quickly - so there's no need for a sign. The vague impression I have that it comes a bit slower than with 3.0 may be caused by the ...

How do I know MM is ready searching? [#5694]

When I look in files to edit, it takes some time before MM comes up with the tracks. Reasonable.
But how do I know it is finished?

Sometimes it says "reading tracks", but that's not always the case.
I thought it was somehow more obvious with the previous release...?

Re: Organize files [#5615]

This is why I said that there seems to be more to it than just the case issue. Apart from the case issue, it does definitely not always behave as one expects. But I could only pinpoint the case issue. Maybe indeed it's best to open another thread if you can report something specific. Regards, Willy ...

Re: Organize files [#5615]

I have installed 1247, and ran it with monitor at start up and auto-organize on. Whatever it was, for me the problem is completely resolved.
Thanks! Willy

There may be more to it than just the case issue. But I'll test again when this is resolved and let you know.
