_MACOSX folders in mp3 downloads...what are they?

I sometimes download obscure, OOP music (eg 60's bollywood soundtracks, serbian gypsy field recordings, etc) from blogs and forums, and sometimes as part of that download there will be two folders in the compressed file, one containing the 'regular' mp3's and another containing the same titles in mp...

Yeah, I've had that box ticked since the beginning, but for some reason MM still doesn't remove dead files from by c: drive.

File Monitor problem and duplicates?

I'm having a problem with duplicate tracks where if I move tracks from a file-monitored folder on my c: drive to one on an external hdd, those tracks still show up as being on my c: drive and therefore in my library as dups. Shouldn't "file monitor" detect that these tracks have moved? I've had the ...

Reliable 1T external HDD's

I was wondering what kind of large capacity back-up HDD's other MM users are using. I've got my library spread out across 3 external Seagate's (300 and 400 giggers) which have been fine for a couple of years until one finally failed on me in the last couple of months (all files were recovered easily...

The "Albums By" and "Albums Featuring" panels already show average album ratings. Where else did you want them displayed? Ahh, I didn't get what you were referring to at first, but now I do...you mean that these things appear in the panel which appears when each new artist is playing! Yes, I love t...

I hate to say it, but for obscure vinyl lp's that'll never be issued on cd or for those pressed in foreign countries and which won't likely be issued on cd, I use the Ebays for downloading artwork. http://Ebay.com http://Ebay.fr, http://Ebay.de etc. http://www.gittigidiyor.com/ http://www.ebay.pl/ etc

Hi t rix, I love this script...and in fact almost every script I use was authored or co-authored by you, so thank-you very much. I was wondering if it's possible to have both comments and lyrics visible at the same time or would this be too much trouble? Also, I'm a great fan of stats and love how y...

I use Audiopod+ to scrobble tracks from my ipod to last.fm and I accidentally discovered that it's possible to defeat last.fm's spam filter. As long as you don't sync your ipod to your media player, the history of tracks listened to/ratings etc remains there. It's happened that I've come home from w...

Well, actually, the reason I wasn't *that* upset initially, as someone above noted, is that I actually do have everything backed up, but to DVD, in .rar format. Of course, I wasn't looking forward to having to uncompress and re-tag everything, and the thought of having to do that made me realize tha...

Listen, I'm sorry to say it, but this whole subject and thread is pathetic, and not for the reason you think. Regarding the father, there's no reason to debate his sicknesses. The real problem is with the news media for covering and publicizing this story in the first place. To begin with, this is n...

I'm glad you've been reassured, SoS. I happen to think MM and its community and forum are the best, and so on a related note, I'm sorry that you've been snipped at. I read your original post and saw it to be light-hearted...the smiley should've been noted by those who attacked. I don't read every po...

I was finally able to recover the entire contents of my drive first using the trial version of recovermyfiles to verify that my files were both intact and identifiable...they were, and I'd like to add that the "identifiable" part was veeeery important considering the number of music files that were ...

Using testdisk I'm finally able to see the data on my disk and it's all there, as I hoped...and suspected...all along. Thanks again to all. Luckily, I had just bought a an external 500gig HDD so I can copy my files over to it in order to reformat the old drive. What's got me concerned is I don't kno...

Thanks technojnky, I had delayed write errors with the first drive before it failed and now I'm having the same problem with the second, both Seagate externals. I'll check your tips out.
