Re: Presets for Columns, Tree Nodes, and Sorting

I particularly agree with the sorting preset option. I often change the sort for some random task I'm doing but then I find myself wondering why the album isn't sorted by track number etc.

Re: On scan, read in disk order

I've got two drives. an ssd for windows and programs, and a big drive for everything else. As I say, this works a treat for me with my current system but I thought that for others who don't use a defragger that sorts alphabetically it would be useful if MM changed the read order

Re: On scan, read in disk order

You're probably right, it would be difficult to do and redundant when physical/magnetic disks are no more. I use myDefrag which is excellent and wouldn't corrupt any playing songs as it uses the windows api. things work well on my current system (core I5, 6gigs of ram and an ssd for the system disk ...

Re: Case & Leading Zero Fixer 1.4.2 (2008-04-15)

Is there a way to mark “ The ” not to change to “the” in the following? Adam and The Ants, Adele & The Raconteurs, Diana Ross & The Supremes… Using the SQL Viewer addin, you could try: UPDATE Songs SET Artist= Replace(Artist, ' the ', ' The ') WHERE Artist glob "* & the *" OR Artist glob "* and the...

Re: Case & Leading Zero Fixer 1.4.2 (2008-04-15)

Just wanted to show some SQL for anyone with problems removing leading zeros from tracks 010 to 099 etc. Using the SQL-Viewer script, execute:
UPDATE Songs SET TrackNumber=CAST(TrackNumber AS Integer) Where TrackNumber Like "0%"

On scan, read in disk order

Currently when MM scans on startup, it does so in alphabetical order. Assuming your media is on a mechanical drive that scan can be much slower / faster depending on how your files are organised on the drive. Using a good defragger to organise files alphabetically I can get scan times down to 2-3 se...

Re: Update Ogg vorbis encoder

Thanks, yes it does if you replace vorbis.dll. Hydrogenaudio have since decided on a newer (but still quite old) version. We're currently on beta4.51, they recommend beta 5, but beta 6 is out and xiph.org also have updated encoders. Aoyumi's Beta 4.51 was found to be very good, so it was re-branded ...

Re: "Level Track Volume" not working properly

Scrap that comment, It seems to me it works on album gain whether album gain or track gain are selected in the options. I suspect that's why you got -1.5, I bet album gain was -8.7. For the ones I reported before, album gain was 0 hence I got no change. Because its converting it's different f...

Update Ogg vorbis encoder

The Ogg Vorbis encoder that comes with media monkey appears to be a very old one (aoTuV b4b [2005-11-17]) according to ogginfo. Is it possible to update the packaged encoder to a more recent/better version? Thanks

Re: "Level Track Volume" not working properly

A late reply I know, but yes, I see this too. I just tried to convert two FLAC tracks in order to level their volume. Prior to doing this one was -4.8 and one -6.5 replaygain. After converting no volume analysis showed, on analysis the values were the same. Addition info: both the level volume optio...

Rednroll - thanks. This was odd for me because I've installed several times and not had this problem before but did this time. Anyway, your workaround worked!

Re: Database loses all changes on crash

Thanks, I've submitted a log for this new issue, but I think these are two quite different issues. One, a repeating problem to do with losing changes I'd thought were committed to the db when MM crashes and the other, a freeze that I've never seen before. I hadn't made any changes this time so I don...

Freeze after can't access cache image

I've submitted several elf files related to this. I opened MM and left it alone, the startup file monitor was running, I got an error message saying MM couldn't access P:\MediaMonkey\Temp\MMCache78806940_2\E5UYDS541BR2B29J - 3316.bmp (twice) and submitted the elf files, after this MM was frozen, I s...
