Re: Window size and minimize problem after Remote Desktop

Just chirping in to say I'm seeing that exact problem as well, and was finally irritated/bored enough to see if this has been reported. I think the remote session isn't necessary the cause, though. Same thing happened with MM3, btw. I've correlated it to running programs that cause Windows to flip o...

Re: Type change causes 'last written' timestamp update [#884

I'm just verifying that the files Date Modified is updated as this is a problem for backup solutions. Okay, made me look. :) I just ran three tests, all on the same MP3 file, and watched what MM4 (b1460) did on each using Process Monitor... Test 1: Change the Type attribute from Classical Music to ...

Re: Type change causes 'last written' timestamp update

I can confirm that files get rewritten. This shouldn't happen in my opinion as it does interfere with backups and can cause problems when tagging files multiple times (MediaMonkey struggles with that). Added as: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8843 Read the bug report (thanks!), and w...

Re: Type change causes 'last written' timestamp update

You do have a choice as to whether you update the timestamp or not when modifying tags. It's in the options, on the Tags & Playlists page: "Modify timestamps when updating tags." Normally, you would want timestamps updated if the tag is stored within the file as well as the database. Toggling this ...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Dim i, itm for i=0 to list.count-1 Set itm = list.Item(i) Yep, in VBish languages, Dim creates variables. It's a remnant of the very original Dartmouth BASIC , where one DIMensioned arrays. (Other variables of the era didn't require declaration.) Here, "i" is used as a loop counter, and "itm" is us...

>Took me awhile to find it, too. Click that "Develop" tab at the top of this page. Cool! Thanks much for the lightning reply! It's a start -- although, alas, an "itm" search is null. Time to roll the stone up the hill again. Clicking on these monkeys reminds me of second grade. That's when it all s...

Type change causes 'last written' timestamp update [#8843]

EDIT: Added comments in "code" block, to clarify what was going on. I know not everyone "speaks DOS" anymore. As I try to clean up my music library, so it works better with the new Collections paradigm in MM4, I've noticed that simply changing the Type (eg, from Music to Classical Music), causes th...

Re: Wishlist: Speed up the Database

I only have one folder monitored and whenever I record/rip any new songs, that's where I put them. From there I move them to whatever folder they're intended for. With a large collection monitoring multiple folders will always be slow. Not sure there's much the developers can do to speed that up mo...

Artwork for Streams

Doesn't seem to be a new idea, as a quick search brings up at least three threads in the last three years asking about this. I, too, was disappointed when I tried to associate a logo graphic with a radio stream, only to see errors generated by MM4. Since MM is capable of storing a link to a graphic ...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Implying that something polished is automatically less functional? Why is that false argument appearing all the time in this thread. As a developer myself, I can tell you that Form and Function sit on opposite sides of the teeter-totter. Regardless of budget. Only managers believe you can have both...

Re: DLNA Navigation [#8740]

I strongly suggest you go the Playlist route. I only use AutoPlaylists for playback and it works wonderfully. Child of the 60s/70s. Albums are my "playlists" of choice. I mean, I do have a few, to run "endless" Christmas music, and so on, but for the most part it's just not something I'd use. Diffe...
