Thx, very creative. But I rather don't go there. I think I'll take the semicolon feature to get the track listed at multiple artist nodes. For auto-organize I keep using track specific masks with "hard-coded" artist portion (which includes the featured artist). Now I have to write some script which ...

thanks for the hint, I had the same question regarding the Database. But is it also possible to change the location of the other files and folders in the C:\Users\****\AppData\Local\MediaMonkey directory also? I would like to have them all in the C:\Users\***\Music folder because I backup them peri...

Danach in iTu...

AFAICR in MM2 this entry was in the "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini" file, wasn't it? You are right, the file location has changed. The previous location was "...\My Documents\My Music\MediaMonkey", not in "Program Files". I figured since you found the new location of the DB you would...

Thank you. I think it is pretty enough, I can live with that. And the special ft. node does not bother me too much. It poses two problems with auto-organize though: I typically use a mask like this: Artist\Artist - Title. Obviously a folder name of "Santana; Michelle Branch" or "Santana; ft.; Michel...

Support for multiple Genres, Artists, Albums, CDs

I browsed the release notes to find out what has changed from 2.5 to 3.0 and came across this entry: 0714 Added support for multiple Genres, Artists, Albums, CDs Sounds like a long-wanted item from my personal wish-list, namely a way to tag tracks with featured artists. For example, consider an arti...

Seems to work in the same way as before, with the only difference that the ini file does not contain the option by default. Worked for me by adding the following line to the [SYSTEM] section: DBName=C:\Home\Dokumente\MediaMonkey\MM.DB Note that the name of the DB as changed and that the extension is...

Nice thinking, but did not help. The ratings are lost, I'm afraid. I want to avoid that this happens again, of course. Which brings me back to the question of how to make sure that a rating is actually stored in the file tags, not only in the DB. Right now I am really hesitating to start over with t...

Thanks, Lowlander. Well I guess then I lost lots and lots of ratings for no apparent reason because the ratings are not displayed anymore. For example, I have one folder with a few hundred files which I rated occasionally in alphabetical order. Therefore I know that I rated everything from, say A..M...

Lots of ratings lost after rescan

Recently I bought a new harddrive and decided to restructure my files and folders. The mp3 files were moved to a different location, too. I didn't want MediaMonkey to do this with auto-organize because not all files were tagged. Also, on a few files/folders I deliberately named the file or folder di...
