I will have to try that tomorrow. inthemean time Idecided to try a clean reinstall, sinceI had installed MM3 over the old MM2 install. I uninstalled MM3 and removedthe MediaMonkey folder that remained (with all remaining plugins and scripts) and then reinstalled MM3. Now the mp4files will no longer ...

Rusty,

I tried to send the files--no luck (they are too large, even zipped). Please let me know how to send the log(s) and I will.

Thanks,
John

Log? Glad to send you one--where is it? I will also gladly send you the files, but will an mp4 do you any good, since it is associated with my computer?

Thanks,
John

RC1-Auto-converts m4p and m4b unnecessarily [1448]

RC1 still converts too many songs to mp3's when syncing my iPod classic. It is strange, some m4a's are not converting--but MOST are. It is even "converting" m4p's to mp3's (which of course won't play on the iPod). The settings are correct (device suppor tset to have m4a and mp4 as supported on devic...

This happens to me quite a bit too. It seems to be after running MM3 [latest B4] and then quitting the program and starting it again. Often, the only way to stop the "upgrade" is to restart the computer.

iPod (pre-Video) 20GB -- EVERYTHING converted to mp3

I recently set up MM3 [B4] to autosync my wife's OLD iPod (I know, I know -- "but it still works...") and even though MM is only set to autoconvert Flac's it is converting everything to mp3: m4a, m4p, etc.). This is annoying. How do I get it to leave the m4a and m4p files alone (it is set to recogni...

Did you update iTunes lately? Newer versions of iTunes do this to files that it deems faulty (converted files with DMA stripped or files that need DMA updated.) If the files are legitimate m4a or mp4 files then just let iTunes renew the licenses and all should be well. i do not think this is as MM p...

MM3 [B4] installation directory?

In the new B4 build the history states that the default installation directory is MediaMonkey because of issues with having seperate directories. The installation instructions say to install to a seperate directory to preserve MM2. I am slightly confused as to which way to install. Thanks for the gr...

Redoing the database seems to have resolved the syncing issue. It is still renaming the playlists though. I will send you my MM2 db.

Thx

Mine does the same thing--MM3 (B3) renames all of the playlists to ""playlist--xyz". It also does not sync the entire list--it only added about 1/4 of the songs--even after restoring the iPod to the original settings aseveral times and resyncing. MM2 syncs the songs fine...
