Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

And as any update to the looks would either be patching (little effort, not a real solution) or changing the skinning engine (major effort, hopefully a real solution, but also the probable loss of existing skins, ie more effort from skinners too) I would need to favor a focus on features. I know th...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Implying that something polished is automatically less functional? Why is that false argument appearing all the time in this thread. As a developer myself, I can tell you that Form and Function sit on opposite sides of the teeter-totter. Regardless of budget. Only managers believe you can have both...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

There are plenty of people that do choose functionality over looks. Of course many choose looks, which is why Apple is doing so well, but many don't, which is why Android got a foothold in the market. Their first handset was really ugly, but launched an OS bigger than Apple's. Implying that somethi...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

You? You create a thread called "MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"" filled with minor issues. Did you even read the review? Mediamonkey is my favorite media player. But unlike most people here, I'm not blind. I see when an UI is clunky. When the window doesn't act like it sh...

I agree.
That shouldn't take too much time to do. And should help communication-wise.

On the other hand, MM4 release is imminent.
So there is no use to fix this at the moment.

Give some time to rusty and his team.

Or maybe in the context menu that opens when you right click on a column header.

Re: Library View...Collapse Tracks!!!!!!!!Please!!!!

Having to take an extra step to get the same as current isn't a win. I don't mind that collapsed tracks gets added as long as the way it currently works doesn't get altered. Just need to make sure your choice is remembered across sessions. But I'd add a toggle in the option menu for the people who ...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Oh, BTW Dreadlau, thanks for the Foobar example, i'll have a better look at the alternative skins. I'm not against a nice interface if i can have good features first 8) And here we go. And I think this will get the point across. Foobar can be both full of functionality and have a pleasing interface...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

Mind you, the other music player i use besides Media Monkey is Foobar2000 so yes, i stand right at the opposite pole from you, i don't care the interface if the features are great. That doesn't mean my point of view is better than yours, it's just different. That being said, if you want a nice inte...

Re: MM4 review: "From great to terrible?"

a quick example: We're in 2011 and Mediamonkey menus still don't have the native os look for win7. Really, is this vertical bar in the menu that important to you :o Yes modern separators and the segoe UI @ 9 point are that important to me! ( none of these can be obtained using the skinning engine! ...
