Another vote here. I really wish this was an option.

Re: Genre - Strict Button

Sounds like you could do this yourself with filters.

Just make a filter to grabs songs if the genre doesn't match any of those categories.

Re: d_iPhone.dll supporting iPhone 3.0 firmware

More serious than the ratings sync problem I'm having: A few songs get synced with the wrong genre. It's really weird.

If I browse by genre on my iPhone, most genres will have clear outliers. Like, I can be looking at sludge and a single Van Halen track will show up.

Anyone noticing this?

Re: d_iPhone.dll supporting iPhone 3.0 firmware

I am not seeing ratings synced back to mediamonkey when they are changed on the iPhone. Of course, this could be an issue specific to me for some reason, since I had this problem before (pre 3.0). But I was hoping that this new DLL would fix the issue for me. is anyone else seeing ratings not get sy...

Re: iphone 3g OS 3.0 (developer preview OS)

Needed to load new music so started up itunes 8.2. Was kinda surprised at how smooth it went so I experimented around... Evidently itunes 8.2 is MUCH improved in handling large libraries compared to itunes 7 and previous versions. (122k tracks here) Still experimenting, yet while a bit sluggish com...

Re: iphone 3g OS 3.0 (developer preview OS)

But if they change the way the database on the device is encrypted, wouldn't it force an iTunes upgrade as well? Yeah, it would...that the one saving grace here, is that they don't update both iTunes and the iPhone firmware very often, so that once the key is cracked we can use it for a while. Whic...

Didn't syncing break between 2.0 and 2.1? I thought it did, but I could be wrong.

Re: iphone 3g OS 3.0 (developer preview OS)

I appreciate that a fix for 3.0 is coming relatively soon. While I clearly would not understand the technical details of the solution, I am curious to know if it is something generic that will apply across future versions of the iPhone OS or if we can anticipate similar delays each time Apple upgra...

Re: iphone 3g OS 3.0 (developer preview OS)

From what I've read, 3.0.1 just contained a fix for an SMS security exploit. I suppose it's possible that apple would be big enough bastards to change the database encryption again for such a small change, but I doubt it.

The big concern is when 3.1 comes out.

Re: iphone 3g OS 3.0 (developer preview OS)

I think CopyTransManager is a good option when you're not on your main computer and you want to pull music off of your iPhone, or you want to dump a few music files on there. It's definitely, definitely not a replacement for mediamonkey...like you said, uploading is slow and there's no permanent mus...

Re: Export to iTunes

Thanks for the work on this! I haven't used it yet but I look forward to trying it. I have a few questions, though: 1. What does the iTunes library need to look like in order for this script to work? Ideally for my needs, the iTunes library would be completely empty, with iTunes just working as a du...
