Burning CD with randomly selected titles

Post by deeyou »

Hello

Is it possible to instruct MM to fill (burn) a CD (-RW) with randomly selected songs (randomly selectet by MM)?

I know that it can be defined within the "properties" for an external device. I couldn't find anything similar for an internal device like a CD-Burner.

Who can help?

You could do this by creating a new AutopPlaylist (Edit\New AutoPlaylist)

There are lots of options in this area for creating randomly selected tracks upto a maximum capacity that you can also stipulate. You can also set filters to select genre, etc.

Once you have the playlist setup, click on the playlist to display the files then proceed with the burn process.

Hope this helps

I've just been looking at this and although I am right you can do this with AutoPlaylists, one problem I have just seen is that this only applies to mp3's or so it seems.

Can anyone advise how to setup an autoplaylist that will randomly select to the established criteria, the correct number of tracks to burn approx. max. 700Mb of .wav's to a CD
Of course the mp3's will be converted to wav during the burn process.

If you want to play back through an audio device that recognises mp3 then this isn't an issue, but my car stereo only play's wav files.

Anyone help?
Thanks

make your auto-playlist restricted by time, not size.

74 or 80 minutes are the typical cd-r's.

Hello again

So far so good.

Creating a new autoplaylist with tracks, megabytes or minutes limitation works but ........

........ if I create 3 new autoplaylists with the same limitations (from the same database) it always selects exactly the same titles.

That's not what I wanted. I would like to use the same CD-RW for my car and have new radomly selected titles from time to time.

Any suggestions?

Here what I have set.

Criteria:
1. Status -> Is accessible
2. Played # -> <1

Show At most:
80 Minutes

Sort order:
Random -> a-z

Select newly created playlist and each time I press F5 to refresh playlist new songs are poping out.
