Will users of MM2.x need to buy a new license for MM3? (just got my copy so I'd like to know if I should wait for 3.0 to get a license)

I think it depends on the license you get. There are two options if you go for gold, either 2.x or lifetime. I guess the first one is not very feasible looking at the release of 3.0 in the near future. So if you want to go for the lifetime license there is no reason to wait.

The lifetime license will cover 2.x, 3.x and all future features. Whereas the 2.x license will only be valid for the 2.x branch (which saw it's last release recently).

Is there something new about upgrading from 2.x licence to 3.x or lifetime?
rusty said a time ago, they want to think about how they can manage it.
Any news? I'd like to test (and use) the Gold features of MM3 too (have only 2.x Gold  )
