Downconverting FLAC files

Postby RabanePaco » Sun May 20, 2012 4:19 am

I bought music in 96 kHz/24 bit FLAC format. Unfortunately I can't play this on all my devices (MM does!).

Is there a way (plugin?) to downconvert this files to the usual 44 MHz/24 bit FLAC's? I also can't find a stand alone application that does this.

One way I found out is to burn the files to a music CD and rescan it, but I would prefer to do it more cleanly.

Thanks

dBpoweramp does. It's not free, but has a 21 day trial period. [Enough for this one time use.] I get the impression it is the kind of de-facto satnadard for music file conversion (and a lot more). I haven't been able yet to find something freeware.

SoX is a very powerful opensource standalone program for converting audio files. It is command line driven and can be found at
