Overwriting current folder.jpg artwork

Postby metalgod » Mon May 21, 2012 1:29 pm

I have recently reinstalled MM on a new PC build with the latest MM version. When I auto tag artwork from the web to a folder that has a folder.jpg already it simply creates a folder_2.jpg file. The old 3x version of MM used to just overwrite the folder.jpg that was already in the folder. Once before I came across with this 4.x and I was able to correct it in the options under format for multiple image files but I cant seem figure out exactly how to do that again. I do not use multiple images for my music just one folder.jpg file. Any help? Thanks in advance.

If I need to change the folder.jpg (eg different version or higher res.) I use the add artwork function.
Right click art & details window - add
This will bring up the folder where the old folder.jpg can be selected and deleted.
Then use the auto-tag from web function.
But agree the MM3 method was much easier :-?

I am aware of this method but I know I have gotten to over write the folder.jpg without creating folder_2.jpg folder_3.jpg etc. I am just not sure of what syntax to use in the options menu

It's not possible, the behavior was changed from MM3.

It's def possible, I have done it. I just cant seem to remember the phrasing for the syntax under Library>Tags and playlists>image filename:
I had it setup on a machine that died to simply override the artwork and it wasnt MM3. It could have been a lower version of 4 perhaps.

Did you try this

Instead of <Filename>.jpg

Thats what I have folder.jpg but if there is an exisiting foler.jpg and you use auto tag from web it just renames it folder_2.jpg.
