Setting to mark skipped track as played?

I generally add a bunch of tracks and then play them on random. Occasionally there is a track I hate and therefore skip to next track. If I do that, the track will remain in the playlist (Now Playing). Is there a way to tell MM to not play a track if I skip it?

No, only removing a track from the Now Playing will no longer play it.
