This morning I tried moving a playlist (Lets call it 'Bob') up to the top position on the playlist node. I highlighted and dragged it to the top and let go of Bob. To my disappointment, he was no where to be found on my playlist node after I dropped him. I thought, "Hmmm. . . . Maybe I dropped Bob INTO another playlist by accident."
So, I opened up the all the other playlists I have (around 10 of them), going on a 'Bob' hunt. I could not find Bob.
Thankfully, he is 'hiding' somewhere in MM. Here is how I found that out. I would have a song in the 'Now Playing' pane. I would right click on it. Then I would select:
'Send To' >>> 'Playlist' >>> this lead me to a window that looked like this (pretend the names below are actually various playlists):
Bob
Fred
Sue
_________________________
Mike
Joe
John
Mary
Me again- so, I'm encouraged that Bob is still in MM. I can even add/edit Bob. But how in the world do I get him back into the Playlist node in the media tree that is on the far right side of the screen?
Also, the _________ line __________ between 'Sue' and 'Mike' - really does exists when I go through the above procedure (for whatever that is worth/matters -- probably not much! Grin)
Also, all the above playlists that I gave above in my example (ie. Bob, Fred, Sue, etc...) all have one thing in common and it is this:
The icon of a folder for any of those playlists have a BLUE musical note on them. IE. pretend the 'X' in the example below is a little icon that looks like a little sheet of paper, with the right upper corner folded back - and that there is a BLUE colored musical note on the center of the 'sheet of paper' --
X Bob
Some other playlists I have, do not have that blue note file icon. Instead they have an imagine on the sheet of paper icon that is ORANGE in color and looks like a martini glass tipped to its side a bit.
What is the difference between those two types of playlists? And, more importantly, once again - how do I get Bob back into the playlist node where he belongs?
As always, thank you very much for your help,
Dean
PS: After sending this, I'll do a reboot. If that 'magically' puts Bob back in his proper place on my playlist node, I'll let you know.
PSS: Yikes! I read that one lady's story about her problem upgrading MM. Lowlander was able to walk her through it and get things fixed . . . but that is a perfect example of why I am fearful to update MM. It might take me hours to get it back to how I currently have it/want it.
