Unsubscribe podcast without removing file from library

Postby jsibley » Sat Jul 21, 2012 12:35 pm

I am running Mediamonkey 4.0.6

How do I unsubscribe a podcast without removing downloaded podcasts from the library? I'm not seeing an unsubscribe option on right-click - only "remove".

Thanks.

right click subscription > Remove > A prompt will ask if you want to unsubscribe and delete files or just unsubscribe

Actually, when I right click, I get an option to remove the file(s) from the library or from the the library and computer.

There is also a "yes" and "no" button. It doesn't actually say "unsubscribe only" anywhere that I can see.

I am right clicking on the entry under "podcasts" which is under "entire library". Right-click gives me the following options:

Subscribe to new podcast
Edit subscription
Remove
Update podcast
Update all podcasts
Rename
Options

Is there somewhere else I should be clicking?

Thanks.

You should be right clicking on Podcasts > Subscriptions > Actual name of podcast

I seem to have this issue with podcasts where, for come reason, the URL is now blank. Is there no unsubcribe option because a podcast with no URL is assumed to be unsubscribed already?

Might something have become corrupted? I don't think MM allows one to save a podcast subscription with a blank URL in it.

Also, is there a way to distinguish in the podcast directory between podcasts that are subscribed and those that are unsubscribed?

And, it looks as though there may be more than one podcast entry with either the same URL or an alternate way to get to the same podcasts. Is there a way to tell with a specific podcast mp3 which URL it was downloaded from and/or which entry in the podcast directory?

Thanks.

I guess you probably already unsubscribed if there is no URL.

On July 23 I asked if there is a way to see whether a podcast listed under podcast subscriptions is actually subscribed. I'm not sure why, but a lot of what are listed as subscriptions don't have a URL when I try to edit the subscription. In many cases (but not all) there is only one file listed.

Also, if I want to keep the podcasts in my library but get rid of "dead" (no URL) subscriptions, what is the best way to do this? It looks as though I need to delete the file from the library and then rescan the disk to add it back in without the "dead" subscription. Is this the best way to manage this?

Thanks.

I should add that after removing the podcast "subscriptions" that don't have a URL associated with them from the MM library, they reappeared.

Very annoying.

This could happen if you tag a file as a podcast (right click the file > Properties, look at the "Type" field.)

So, by design, any podcast that has been downloaded will show up under the list of subscriptions, even if there is no URL to download from, unless the type is changed?
