stream play issues with 4.0.6?

Anyone else having issues playing streams, particularly from SOMA.fm, with 4.0.6?

I'm experiencing the symptom of my favorite streams (maintained in a playlist) being unable to play, and even causing the MM player to "hang". Not quite random, but the same stream will sometimes work, but then repeatedly be unable to play. When the player hangs I have to kill the MM process and restart before trying again.

The SOMA streams in question:
* Black Rock: http://mp2.somafm.com:8048
* Groove Salad: http://sfstream1.somafm.com:3000
* Lush: http://mp2.somafm.com:8808
* plus many more...

What I've tried:

Swapping to alternate streams/formats doesn't seem to really matter.

Re-installing MM 4.0.6 doesn't eliminate the problem.

Only relief I've found is by downgrading back to MM 4.0.5. All these same streams work fine when I run this previous version.
