Media Monkey changing song titles

Here's a bizarre one, MM was playing an album I ripped and has it played each track it deleted the track info (title/album/artist etc) and replaced it with some strange 3 character wingding. I manually went back and renamed everything but what a pain. Anyone have any ideas ?
