Auto Organize-Create Album folder only if more than 1 song

Post by Kostarena » Mon Sep 10, 2012 1:34 am

Hi.

Using Auto Orgainize, Is it possible to organize by

1. Artist 1st Letter
2. Year
3. Album only if more than one song, or copy an existing folder (album collection)
4. Filename

Using this is not enough: <Artist:1>\<Artist>\<Year>\<Album>\<Filename>

i.e. If I have;
\A
\AC-DC\
2002\
\Stiff Upper Lip (Already an existing Folder with songs)
\All Screwed Up (Live).mp3

The 'Stiff Upper Lip" Folder already is organized with the correct songs,
the 'All Screwed Up (Live).mp3 needs to be in the \2002 folder without an 'album' folder created.

What would be the corrected syntax ?
Thank you.

That's not possible as there is no condition to evaluate amount of songs.

Just an idea:

If your song 'All Screwed Up (Live).mp3' already contains the correct informations, like
<Artist> = AC-DC
<Year> = 2002
<Album> = Stiff Upper Lip
<Title> = All Screwed Up (Live).mp3

You could use a mask like
<Artist:1>\<Artist>\<Year>\<Album>\<Song#:2> - <Title>

This SHOULD move your songs together in the same folder. But only, if the id3tag-informations for this song are really the same as for the other songs in your (already existing Folder) \Stiff Upper Lip

Please be carefull with such auto-organize masks.

Thank you both.

I was hoping I could use the 'if' function to differentiate
a file and a folder, possibly with the 'path' or 'folder', to process a file and a folder
differently.

It would be really great if I could ignore/copy/move an existing folder, for example
a folder that already has the album contents correct.

Until then...

If your 'all screwed up (live).mp3' has no albumtitle populated you can use $if to adjust the path;

Code: Select all

\<Artist:1>\<Artist>\<Year>\$if(<album>,<Album>\)<Filename>
otherwise as noted above, there is no way to qualify based on # of tracks, besides how you expect to be able to determine the correct # of tracks that each album should have?
