MM cannot find library

Post by MediaMan »

Once again, and this happen EVERY TIME I rebuild purchase a machine , MM cannot find my library because :

- it does not allow for a simple setting in the program where the user can browse to point to his library ( like every other app on the planett)
- the FAQ on the topic is hidden
- the syntax is cryptic and not easily rememebered
- the required INI file to edit is in a hidden directory.

So what should take 3 seconds, takes about 30 minutes ( including the mandatory forum posts to seek for help

So MM developer will never ever ever fix this, I must ask again ( sorry) :

- in what directory would I find the INI file ( I am on Windows 7)
- how does one unhide a hidden directory
- what is the syntax to edit the INI file to point to the library
- how does one drill down to the FAQ from http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/ ?

This is all quite laughable. What a way to design an app!

1) DB and ini: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=17
2) Unhiding hidden files is normally done in the Windows Explorer options.
3) Syntax = DBName: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ticleid=46
4) FAQ is here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ and it actually has both relevant articles on the first page.
