iTunes rating tags

Post by anonymust » Fri Nov 01, 2013 6:00 am

How can I get MM to also write into the fields needed to I can see the rating of my songs in my iTunes Library?

I've realized for FLAC files MM writes to the "Rating MM" tag (when I edit/check my tags in MP3Tag software). and for MP3 files it writes to the "Rating" tag field...

But for some reasons I cant find which tag I need to write to so my iTunes see's the rating I gave it.

Any Ideas on this?

P.s. I want this to also work for the songs I sync with my iPod/iPhone (with MM)

P.s.s Any word on if MM is coming to OSX/Linux :) I really do hate iTunes. but it works.. so "If it aint broke, dont fix it" but I do want to replace it. Songbird hasnt been that promissing to me on OSX

You can't make MediaMonkey write any other tags that natively supported (by the developers). What is read/written is covered here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... erties/4.0

As for Ratings there is a fairly easy workaround in passing this along between different programs. Just create a Playlist for each rating in the software you're exporting from with all the tracks with that rating (exported to M3U on your PC). Import those Playlists in the other software and rate all files on the Playlist with the appropriate Rating.
