Tags reverting when I try to edit files

I'm having a strange problem. I tag a bunch of files in a folder. If I select that folder the files display as I tagged them. But, if I select a file to edit, the properties revert to the pre-tagged original properties. If I deselect and go to another folder then go back to that folder, the songs display as I tagged them. It's when I try to edit files that they somehow switch back to their pre-tagged properties. I don't know if that is making any sense.

Are you tagging in MediaMonkey (if so where?)? Also which version of MediaMonkey and what file types?

I'm tagging in MM (4.07.1511) using RegEdit in the My Computer area of the media tree. These files have Thai letters (and some English letters), would that matter?

So an Addon is tagging the files in the My Computer node? That may be the problem, try editing the files in a library node like Music.
