Multi Instance MM

Hi,

I am using Dropbox as an online backup and to sync my music collection between 2 computers. I have MM (4.1) running on my desktop and laptop with both identically set up and music in the same path on both machines. I would like to keep MM in sync between the two machines and think I can do this by setting MM up to scan my music media folder so that changed files are rescanned when synced, and the MM database updated. I have done a test and found that MM rescans files in the music media folder and updates OK without adding duplicate entries (my main fear), but the process is slow as every file is rescanned and the database updated even if no files have actually changed.

Anyone got any tips as to the best way to do this?
