Retrieve old MM environment?

I've been a MediaMonkey user for a long time, Gold-licensed. I have it installed on my main home machine, have a well-maintained library of 20k tunes, and I access that library from other home devices as well as MM Android from my phone. I have a MM server set up on my main machine.

I have just converted this main machine from Windows 10 Pro 32-bit to 64-bit (so I could run my new pro audio recording software.) This involved a complete re-install of Windows. I am now starting from a clean slate. I have all my data carefully segregated and backed up and accessible. I have all my downloaded install files and everything saved and accessible. Windows saved all the files of the entire old 32-bit Windows installation into a new directory called Windows.old, so all the old installed MM files are there.

Here's my question, finally -- I know I can build all my old MM setup again from scratch, but is there any way I can take that fresh install of MM and retrieve my old environment from the Windows.old directory, or from some other location where config info was stored? I really liked my old MM environment and I feel like a bit of a cheesehead for being so careful with everything but forgetting about keeping my MM world...

Any help at all would be most welcome.

Reinsert a "copy" of the backed up database (MM.DB) and the Settings file (Mediamonkey.ini) and .registry (if portable) found here:
knowledgbase wrote:Here are the default locations of these files:
MediaMonkey 4.x:

Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista:
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MetadataCache\
Windows XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MM.DB
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini
C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MetadataCache
Portable Mode:
In the 'Portable' subdirectory of the location to which MediaMonkey was installed. e.g.
<MediaMonkey Portable Install Folder>\Portable\MM.DB
<MediaMonkey Portable Install Folder>\Portable\MediaMonkey.ini
<MediaMonkey Portable Install Folder>\Portable\MetadataCache\
try that and if it doesn't work take a look at viewtopic,
for updating location of files

Make certain everything is backed up first.
You may lose a small percentage of the "old look" if you used the regular install before. The portable install saves some view to a separate .registry file
(can be backed up and reinserted to if using a "fresh" portable install).
