Use ORIGINAL DATE flag to (auto-) organize albums on drive

Post by strevilo »

Hi all,
am new to this forum and a great fan of MM. There is one thing I am missing which I could not find an answer to using the forum search. How can I use the values in the Original Date flag to (auto-) organize my albums on the drive? I tried multiple different variants of <year> like <origyear>, <origdate>, <originalyear>, <oyear> and many more - to no avail. The MM wiki did not help either.
Hope you have a solution, else I think it is a must-have for the current MM5 development. Have already been considering using one of the custom fields but I would consider that a workaround and misuse of data fields which is a bad practice.
Many thanks!

<Original Date> should do the trick.

Works like a charme. thanks!
I have updated the Wiki (http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... ormats/4.0) accordingly.
