Unwanted taskbar icon

Post by terrypin » Wed Nov 01, 2017 11:48 am

I have my main programs pinned to my Windows 10 taskbar, so that I can conveniently load one. And see immediately from the light blue line if it is running, with at least one window open. But unlike all the others, MM creates a duplicate icon when it's started And confusingly transfers the blue line to that.

How can I remove that unwanted icon please?

Are you running unskinned or skinned?

Unskinned.

I think I've solved it shortly after posting thanks.

It seems that the original icon I'd pinned was a shortcut (not sure how that happened). So I removed it and started again, this time going to
C:\program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe
and using Right click > Pin to taskbar
Happilly all now appears to be back to normal.

Unskinned runs a separate executable from the skinned version. You'd generally launch the regular version which than switches to the unskinned version if the user enabled that.
