Note that it's merely a security certificate error. As long as you're no logging in or sending data it wouldn't affect you. So downloading something is not affected by that.

Thanks. With that reassurance I just opened MM again but this time did not get the automatic reminder about the new version, 4.1.21. So I used Help > Check for updates. But, apart from seeing a brief message at the bottom saying 'Checking for updates', nothing happened. I currently have 4.1.20 (1864).
Odd, but I successfully updated directly from the web site download tab.
