My issue today is one reason why I dislike internal only playlist files.
So, awhile back i lost my MM database. It was corrupted somehow. So, I started over. Since my playlists were all saved in MM internally (something I didn't have to worry about with WinAmp years ago), I had to recovery them from my mp3 player. On my mp3 players I never have any folders. I just have one main music folder. My music files are named Artist - Album Title - track number w/leading 0 - Track name. On my computer, however, I have sub folders for genre. The file reference in the imported playlist is /storage/0000-0000/Music/Jean Grae - Cookies Or Comas - 01 - Casebaskets.mp3. The file on my computer is D:\abyss\muZik\hip-hop\Jean Grae - Cookies Or Comas - 01 - Casebaskets.mp3. In the case of this particular playlist, all the files happen to be in one sub folder. In this case I could just use the replace tool in Notepad and replace the beginning with the new local path. However, I was tryin to do this with the located moved/missing files option in mm. Every time I try it keeps tellin me it can't find the file. Even when I point it directly at the subfolder that it's actually in. The display just says "unlocatable files". I know the files are there because I'm lookin right at it and the file name is exactly the same. If I edit the file properties in now playing, it will work. but this is pretty tedious to have to do this for each file.

You can both automatically backup the database: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... lit=backup and automatically export Playlists: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... port+child

That's good to know, now. However, my issue still remains that the locate moved/missing files feature isn't working anymore.Lowlander wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:54 am You can both automatically backup the database: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... lit=backup and automatically export Playlists: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... port+child
The file names in the playlist file are exactly the same as they are on my machine. I don't see why it wouldn't be able to find them, even after pointing the tool directly to the folder they're in.

Presumably because MediaMonkey lacks information on the files as it didn't scan the files themselves. Thus it can't make comparison between the Library entry and the files on the drive.

Re: Locate Moved/Missing files doesn't work
The only option I could find in there that might help is Update Filename of path but I can't figure out how to make it search my library for the current location. My file structure is like this: muzik\genre\Artist - Album - track - title.ext
This is an example of what's in the playlist that I copied from the mp3 player a year ago.
/storage/0000-0000/Music/Kaytranada - 99.9% - 01 - Track Uno.mp3
I still have them saved but haven't gone back to try to re-create them inside of MM until now because I knew it would take me forever. I use Notepad++ to do a mass find and replace. This is fine if all the files in the playlist are in the same folder but some of my playlists have songs from different folders in it. Looks like I'll just have to re-create all of these playlists manually. ugh.
