Mediamonkey background process prevents sleep on win 10

My pc will not go to sleep (either from manual command or timeout) unless I use task manager to kill mediamonkey background process first.

If I check using "powercfg /requests" mediamonkey will be listed under the audio stream/SYSTEM category.

If I do kill the background process once and restart MM sleep will function correctly. The background MM process is no longer running.

I use MM as the library from which I sync various MP3 players for which I thought the upnp background service was required. - maybe there is another way fo doing this that does not disable sleep?

Any ideas how to fix this or work around it?
