Volume Leveling

Post by morefilling »

In the past, I volume leveled my collection. I don't remember what db's I used. I want to volume level some new music at the same db. I've tried to find it but can't. Is there a way to figure this out? Thank you

I believe there are two ways to do this... The least destructive is to use Tools | Analyze Volume, then tell your player to level the volume during playback. This will cause the player to use that volume info to play the track back either louder or softer to even out the playback volume.

The other way is to use Tools | Level Track Volume. This literally modifies the music to be louder or quieter. Depending on how you do this, you can permanently lose audio quality.

To avoid long unexpected file transfers, MediaMonkey will not sync files if only their level metadata has changed. So you might have to delete the files from your music player and then resync to force it to copy them down.

Good luck.
