like this thread. the variety in songs is quite big (some i like a lot, others just make me cringe, but hey, it's a free world...)

"the closer you are" is the first song i ever heard from frank zappa and it keeps giving me the chills. (now i have like 150 albums by FZ)

i even convinced my wife to get married to that song

Evanescence - My Imortal

To anyone that's lost a loved one, this song rates a 10 on the chills meter

oh you want to cry? okay some really sad songs that make some cry.

"Jimmy brown the paperboy " or is that newsboy? could also be called the little paperboy, (mac wiseman's version)
"Little Rosa" by red sovine. (that guy had a voice on him)

if you never heard red sovine before he was called the king of narrations in country music and he could change
his voice to fit the songs.

those are sad but try these ones. I don't know who sings them.

1. Christmas Carol
2. Alyssa Lies

keep a supply of kleenex with you when you listen to these two. they are not just tear-jerkers, water will flow like Niagra Falls!

Thanks for this great thread.

Chiller: Neil Young "Long May You Run" from the Unplugged album.

Sad song (downright pitiful category): "No Telephone in Heaven" I"m sorry little girl, but no, you can't talk to mommy on the phone.

Oh no you don't. I am not even going there. The two songs I put down are bad enough. I don't think I have enough Kleenex for a little girl that just wants to talk to her mother!!! I only have 21 boxes.

I am just reading your posts and trying to listen to their choices....Songs can give me chills if the singer's voice is almost unearthly.

Depends on what type of chills you are looking for? Chills for being so excited to listen or chills that you don't want to hear it again?
