Format??

I tried Itunes before I came across MM and found the incessant emails drove me nuts!!..
Question..
Do I have to format my Ipod before using MM.

Only I have completely erased Itunes from everything, including reg files
No trace left.....
Only whatever is on my Ipod...I haven't gone there yet ..."Incase"...;0)
