1148 ZEN default device config has wrong playlist path

The config created by MM upon a ZEN (firmware V1.20.02e) being connected for the first time has Options > Playlists, Destination directory: \Playlists\ , causing synced playlists to fail to be visible on the device.

Workaround: correct the value to \My Playlists\ .

someone with ZEN device should need to export correct profile and upload it to https://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brow ... -profiles/ but maybe also https://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brow ... en-vision/ work.

Hi,
There is no actual fix, only way to have it correctly is that we buy each and every device our users have/use in order to make support. API and device specs are in 99.99% closed for third party apps and/or we need to pay fees for using them which would eventually be burden for our users.

Secondly that DB needs to be updated regularly and because that and MM supporting specific Device MM would need to phone home to query databases for specific Device ID (often serial number like windows query own database for each driver).

We would like to avoid that as we value user privacy and till now we have not found right way honor that, even we internally tried to find it.

Not at all. I'll happily send you one. Or easier, why not have MM include a tested config from a user?

This is not part of any API or published device spec I know of.

I think you'd get 99% success by searching the device for any folder with Playlists in the name.

Else simply ask the user to pick the model from a list.

Isn't that easier for user to upload device profile to mention page

I guess it would at least cut shipping costs.

You would not believe, how things are complicated. For example we had user that synced music to USB to be played on 80k car and after few weeks and user returned vehicle to dealer we have found that 4k+ 14" touch Infotainment/ac/navigation/virtual dashboard simply said is not designed to support playlists at all, but you need to be relied on online services (subscription based) to play any music (lossy only) and as end result he even paid 2k for replacement unit and updates to warranty in order to make it valid again.

I am not sure I understand what you meant by that.

User /uploading/ to that page does not solve the problem. MM include a tested config from a user does.

When MM finds a new MTP device, it searches the folders for one with Playlists in the name, and sets the Playlists Destination Directory to that.

Great! But it does not need to be an online list. Embedded in MM is better than the current none.
