[SOLVED] Stop MediaMonkey from start up when plug in iphone
Recently got an iphone and installed itunes. Now I do not want MediaMonkey to automatically start up each time I plug in my iphone to PC. Itunes of course is supposed to start up and it does, but then Media... starts up. How do I stop it from auto opening???

Thanks, but no thanks Lowlander. I don't want to turn off autoplay on my PC (which I already knew how to do). This would affect many other functions for which I want autoplay to be on. So back to the original ?
Surely there must be some setting in MediaMonkey that will stop it from opening every time I plug in my iphone. If not there certainly should be!

You don't have to turn autoplay completely off, just change the autoplay setting so that MM isn't opened.accessno wrote:Thanks, but no thanks Lowlander. Re: Stop MediaMonkey from auto start up CONCLUDED
Thanks for both response. I was not aware that you could selectively turn off autorun. It worked, and now if I could just get rid of the random access violations I would be a happy monkey fan!
Re: Stop MediaMonkey from start up when plug in iphone
Upgrade to MediaMonkey 4 (http://www.mediamonkey.com/news/2011/11 ... diamonkey/) and if you still see access violations submit a debug log to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Re: Stop MediaMonkey from start up when plug in iphone
I'm having the same problem. When I plug my iPhone in, I only want iTunes to open.
I have tried what you wrote above here, but when i plug the iphone in, the setting seems to reset itself to "sync with MM".
Have tried to restart windows, update MM from 3.5 to 4, restart again, but the same thing happens no mather what I do. Really annoying!
Can anybody help?

Same thing here.. it is really annoying. I have tried change the option on the Windows 7's autoplay. Have tried uninstall MediaMonkey and install it again (The 4th version), and nothing!!monkeydude461 wrote:I'm having the same problem. When I plug my iPhone in, I only want iTunes to open.

It's a Windows setting and not a MediaMonkey one. You'll need to follow the instructions here: http://www.ehow.com/how_5338935_stop-au ... ndows.html

How come people seem not to read posting before replaying?
I have the same problem stated by monkeydude461 and Flavio.
Followed the steps in ehow.com page (which by the way I already knew).
Now the settings for Autostart are "Ask me every time"
Once I plug in my iPhone again the settings are automatically reset to "sync with MediaMonkey".
Does anyone really know how to get rid of this feature?
Thanks

Re: Stop MediaMonkey from start up when plug in iphone
I have the same issue.
I change the autoplay setting, save and the next time I connect the iPhone it resets to automatically starting MediaMonkey
Very Frustrating

Re: Stop MediaMonkey from start up when plug in iphone
The solution is this: plug in iPhone and exit MM.
Go to Device Manager/Portable Devices/iPhone
Delete it (right click)
Disconnect then reconnect iPhone
it will now AutoPlay normally after reinstalling device driver.
Thank you.

The boys at Ventis Media really want to control the iPhone experience. Man, you have to jump through hoops to prevent a total take-over by MediaMonkey. Version 3 was way better...
