Ipod Nano Media monkey 4 Iplaylists Many Sync issues

Postby coolvibe » Mon Apr 16, 2012 3:38 pm

Hello , recently dropped Itunes and updated to MM 4 , I really thought life would be a lot easier with Medi Monkey, but has been a lot of work and whole lot more frustration.
I have and used the latest Iplaylists Importer to import all my playlists from Itunes on my Windows XP Pro Dell PC. After syncing to both my 5 and 6th Gen Ipod Nano. All kinds of syncing issues with Media Monkey with Nano, listed below that did not have in Itunes.
I have contacted MM Support a several times over the last 2 weeks, but even after sending them a MM Debug log, so far hard to get any specific answers or have barely heard back from anyone.
Can anyone advise any feedback or solution for any of these issues? Many thanks for your time and help!!!

1. Many songs are totally skipped over in my playlists, unless I select them directly to play.

2.Also crossfade does not work on these songs, even though I have selected Crossfade in MM and on Ipod. I also tried disabling Crossfade in MM, but still does not work properly on Ipod. Neither, I cannot I scroll through specific times in these songs like others on Ipod. There are pauses sometimes before songs play in their playlists.

3. When MM does play files, Songs will freeze, and very very loud static noise will pop up in songs from time to time while playing in Ipod. These playback issues all start in MM.

4.Song Volumes, even though I have had All songs Analyzed in MM, and selected Level Playback Volumes.I have selected, Per Track level at 92dbs, still get low volumes on some songs, while others very nice and loud.

5. Most my songs Bitrate from my imported playlists songs does not show up at all in MM4?

6.I do notice that on certain files only, that I scanned into MM from my external Hard drive, will not play if hard drive is not turned on. Once scanned into MM, shouldn't they all still play with or without ext hard drive on? Anyway to resolve this?

Almost a month now, and still no response from MM Supporters etc. I have tried everything can find in MM Forums, checked all my Itunes and MM settings, even rebuilt database with MM every which way, reset and cleared Ipod, also removed or rescanned any dead links etc, checked and tried all input and output options etc, updated and resynced several times with MM 4, but my (5th Gen Ipod nano) which was working great, until synced with MM 4.
Ipod still freezes or skips over many many tracks in my playlists. So even after contacting MM Support several times the last month or so, and even sending in MM Debug Log to them etc, but still, hardly any real answers or solutions from them at all. So it is apparent that Media Monkey or MM 4 is not yet fully compatible with latest Ipods etc, still a few devastating Bugs that MM Developers must fix, hopefully by the next MM Release.

Unfortunately, my Media Monkey online membership Reviews with Cnet, Softpedia and others etc, will have to agree with others, that there are just too many bugs, even in MM 4 still, especially with Ipods 5th Gen and up, and cannot recommend anyone leaving their dreaded Itunes just yet for all these Ipod sync problems and headaches. Nor can I recommend anyone purchasing MM Gold, in which I would gladly Pay, if MM Developers could fix or address all these issues, until then , just no way.

In addition to the constant freezes or skipping over many many tracks in my playlists, these are some addtl issues with Media Monkey 4:
1. The Level playback does not work well at all, with my Mp3 volumes still all over the place. Many mp3 songs volumes play much lower than others.
2. My song Times and duration, still does not show on all songs, only a few.
3. Playlists total songs and times, at bottom in MM inconsistent, so many times I have no idea how long my playlist really is.
4. Sometimes songs will play fine, sometimes they will play garbled or with a short very loud static noise, along with pauses or freezing.
5. The Auto DJ Feature , which was one of the main reasons wanted to switch to MM, is so limited, you can only use while playing on PC, will not let you take a playlist and have MM beat/tempo match songs, and save as a playlist to Ipod or MP3 Player. So still have to pay or use another program to do this very important feature for parties etc.
