Unable to sync to iRiver H340

I've been using MM for a while now and have found it invaluable for writing to USB sticks to play in the car (I prefix an artist's albums so I can play them in chronological sequence - if I want). Prior to using MM The albumws would, at best, be in reverse order and sometimes the tracks would be seemingly random! But using the Sync option in MM cured all of that.

I recently came across my old iRiver H340 and thought "Hmmm, 40Gb!" Except ...


... I cannot get MM (ver 4.0.3.1476) to sync to it. Following exactly the same process as I use for USB sticks:

- Highlight artists/albums
- click Apply

MM then reports on the status bar "Synchronising H300 Series: (Preparing list of files)"

And then nothing! So what am I doing wrong? There must be a difference between the H340 and a normal USB stick as MM knows it an iRiver H300 series device attached.

I get this regardless of whether I boot up with the iRiver or Rockbox firmware.

Many thanks in advance for any ideas. At this rate I'll have to use Windows to copy the folders across and then find a utility to sort the order out.
